Also have bluff from littlek. 48 hour final call for bluffs for OBEAH.
Yes, suh. We hear and OBE-AH"!
Wasn't Obeah the little boy on "The Andy Griffith Show"?
Make that one more day...I will be away tomorrow.
No, prob, Equus! We've just been froggin' around here.
OBEAH
...There seem to be a couple of themes here...
1. A relative of the oboe, with simpler valves and stops
2. A minor prophet of post-Biblical times
3. The rosy-billed stork, from Obeah, the Old Testament prophet who was fed by storks in the wilderness
4. An herb or drug used to cast spells in voodoo
5. The sinister form of voodoo as opposed to the peaceful form
6. A mystical faith which includes a belief in alien abduction
7. The term used to describe the sensation a geisha feels after untying her sash
No 5.
I hope it isn't No 2 because that's realy boring.
No 7 is presumptuous.
Hmmm. Pretty sure I know what it isn't, but what exactly it is, therein lies the rub!... Off to ponder and obeah!
I will cast out my vote for #5
I'll be different and say #4.
I'm thinkin' #4 or #5 ... 4, no 5, no 4 - Ahhhhhhhhh! Okay, #5, final answer.
Without a doubt it is #4, no 5, no 4, no 5 no 4
OK #4 is it.
Last call for geeses....uh....that should be GUESSES.
Not a good round.
I debated over this a long time whether to end this round or not... Clary pretty much nailed the answer I was looking for and I was waiting for someone else before I ended the round. Justthefax' bluff was really close to the right answer, but I didn't think it close enough, so I went ahead. After I posted OBEAH, I checked the dictionary and in fact JTF's answer is listed as a correct def. So, I don't know how to score this. Everybody guessed either 4 or 5, so everybody is right, and JTF and Clary technically had the right answer beforehand...
1. A relative of the oboe, with simpler valves and stops (Equus' bluff, no takers)
2. A minor prophet of post-Biblical times (Devries' bluff, no takers)
3. The rosy-billed stork, from Obeah, the Old Testament prophet who was fed by storks in the wilderness (Clary's bluff, no takers)
4. An herb or drug used to cast spells in voodoo
(Justthefax' bluff/correct answer, chosen by Upintheairjrbird and Jespah)
5. The sinister form of voodoo as opposed to the peaceful form (the correct answer I was looking for, chosen by Devries, Spendius, and Justthefax)
6. A mystical faith which includes a belief in alien abduction (bluff by Jespah, no takers)
7. The term used to describe the sensation a geisha feels after untying her sash (bluff by littlek, no takers)
I think that if ANYONE knows it, we should change the word. That's how it's done as a parlourgame. I remember to this day how in 1968 my boyfriend's friend, who later stole him from me, didn't admit to knowing jumbal, and then won. Liar! Cheat!!
Shall I offer the word FALESTE?
I have had two gracious and nimble bluffs for FALESTE but fear that nobody else is interested, yet it is a charming word, don't you think?
Yes, it is...
She has FALESTE and canst get uppeth!
Is that just a spoonerism (well, sorta) of Adeste Fideles??
Faleste Ideales - beautiful bluffs for FALESTE already received
must get more!
Nothing's gelled yet.I live in hope.
