Toledo, Ohio-AP -- Twenty-four-years after a nun was found stabbed and strangled in a hospital chapel, a Roman Catholic priest has been charged in her murder.
Police in Toledo, Ohio, arrested the Reverend Gerald Robinson yesterday -- five months after they reopened the investigation into the death of Sister Margaret Ann Pahl.
Police say the 71-year-old nun was stabbed about 30 times and strangled on April fifth, 1980. Her body was found in the chapel of Toledo's Mercy Hospital, where she was the caretaker and where Robinson, who's now 63, had worked as a chaplain.
Police say "new technology" led to Robinson's arrest. But they won't elaborate about evidence or a motive.
Police started up the cold case based on a tip. Church officials say they'll cooperate with police.
well, it's pretty unlikely that priest will kill nun in casino, don't you think?
yeah I guess so but I was kinda thinking it might have been in the presbytère following a partaking of the host.
