IF you have some real concerns about some stories your former boyfriend and his female friend are posting on facebook concerning you spend 50/100 dollars or so and get a nasty lawyer letter send to him/her demanding they Cease-and-desist such behaviors.
Likely to worry them enough to stop such postings.
As far as looking him up in the public records once he gave you some valid reasons to be concern about him being honest about matters that directly impact you I see zero wrong in doing so. They call such records public for a reason after all.
