Time magazines person of the year turned out to be persons of the year. They were Cynthia Cooper of worldcom, ColeenRowley of the FBI and Sherron Whatkins of Enron.
They were all three whistleblowers. The links noted tell their stories.
What do you think of Time magazines choice?

I am no longer able to access anything at the urls you have given, Au1929 - would you be able to give a short precis of the reasons these people were chosen? The Enron one seems pretty self-explanatory to me - so good on Sherron - but I am unclear about the others.
In general, I have little respect for Time Magazine, or its choices, but this seems as though it might be interesting...
I'm not sure that anyone knows, for certain, what motivated these people; but I am satisfied with the results. Not that I want people to suffer, but the companies should be held accountable. However, other articles have indicated the top individuals are still enjoying a level of prestige and spending money. I, for one, am more concerned with the individuals who lost their retirement, homes and source of income.
