Hi English teachers,
may I ask if my following sentence is acceptable? Thanks a lot in advance.
I ventured beside a tiger today and fortunately it didn't bite me.

I think it's good.

I think most would probably be more specific. "I ventured to stand beside a tiger today".

Hey, just how many New Years' you get over there? Seems like you just had one, or does every country get there own New Year?
