I am not ridiculous. You apparently are running out of steam.

I am not jumping through any of your hoops. Either you can explain your contradictions, or you can't. Evidently you can't.

Case closed.

Close it. That is your best bet to claim victory.

There are no contradictions.

You create seeming contradictions by doing the imaginative paraphrasing you do...and then require that I answer for your straw men.

Pick a quote of mine...and another that you suppose contradicts it (with links)...and we will discuss.

Or do your usual thing: Declare victory when the heat gets too much...and slink off.

@Frank Apisa,
Don't worry about me. I have lots of steam left, and I also know a lot of things about reality... As I explained above.

Did I answer your question to your satisfaction now?

Do you seriously think you can witter about "descriptions of reality" without the tacit acceptance of the belief system (contrary to current knowledge) that language functions according to the correspondence theory of truth and its assumptions about "reality"?
Ah..but such an assumption would need thinking about ! Wink

Remember me telling you years ago that you were like the ridiculous Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail ? What was left of him after losing his arms and legs, was left shouting in the dust "It's only a flesh wound !" Your ego ,which you project onto others of course, won't even go that far.

With reference to the OP, It is obvious to all that your belief system, that you are the only human in history who doesn't have one , has been well and truly destroyed !

You have answered none to my satisfaction so far.

But the most important one has changed. The most important question now is:

Where are the contradictions you want me to explain?

I can seriously think you are a pompous bag of air...saying nothing, but using lots of words to do so.

People discuss REALITY and existence...and do so with the words available.

But whatever the REALITY IS...that is what it IS.

I remember several fumbled attempts you have made at insults...not this one in particular. I have laughed at all of them. You are not particularly adept at doing insulting.

What is your point?

Jesus H. Christ, Fresco...get a grip man.

The OP has absolutely nothing to do with me. It has to do with Thomas...and his belief system.

I doubt very seriously that I am the only human in history who does not do "believing."

And the thought that it has been well and truly destroyed is an absurdity. You are being like Olivier...declaring a victory that does not exist.

Now that you're a "pompous bag of air," we should take come-uppance to frankie's claims. LOL

You asked what I knew of reality, and I answered to the best of my abilities. What seems to be the problem now?

I am waiting for this list of contradictions.

I have already covered my response to your list of what you "know" about REALITY.

I did not provide a comprehensive list, as that'd be impossible, but you got an answer to your question, which is more than I can say for most of my questions to you.... You may not like the answer I provided, but who said you and I should necessarily agree on anything?

I have already explained what your contradictions are, several times even. And unlike you, I used plain English, not cryptic references... Anyway, here it is again: You say that you know nothing, and that you know a lot of things. What gives?

@cicerone imposter,
Smile In terms of Archimedes and the flotation of "air-bags" it saddens me that Frank, a one time philosophy graduate, (so he says) descended to the level of barber shop banter many years ago, and got stuck there. I know many graduates of his age, eager for mental stimulation, who actively relish discussions of current developments and travel miles around the UK, chasing speakers, and reporting new material for debate.

I gave you my reasons for questioning why you assert you "know" the things you said you know...without the qualifications I applied to my assertions of "knowledge." Apply the qualifier...and I will agree with you.

I am not interested in you explaining my contradictions...because what you are really doing is to make stuff up and pretend I have said it...and then saying that I am contradicting myself.

I quote what you say every time I respond to you...unless it is part of a continuing discussion.

Quote and link to whatever you deem to be a contradiction...so that I can defend MY words...rather than your characterization of them

What are the contradictions you are talking about. QUOTE ME...don't just pretend I have said something you are inventing.

Or don't...and understand that I am going to laugh at what you are doing.

But I would much rather you actually come up with quotes from me...that contradict each other...if you can.

Like I said...you are a bag of wind using lots of words to say damn near nothing.

And if you were anywhere NEAR the intellectual you pretend to be...you would not be posting that nonsense here, but would be in a true philosophy forum subjecting your pronouncements to peer review.

Look it up. I am not jumping through any more hoops for you.

You commented on the qualifier earlier. Just keep looking until you come to it...and this time...FOCUS!

@Frank Apisa,
Peer reviews happen live every first Tuesday in the month.
Copies of current papers are available on request. (You could disguise them in the pages of the N.J. Star Ledger while you are waiting for a haircut !)

@fresco,
Peer reviews...random peers....Hmmmm. I don't know why anyone should trust reviews from random peers. So many people are sheep...and can't do their own thinking.
