Is the following correct?:

By a way of introduction I would like to point out that Doctors—also referred to as physicians and medical practitioners—are healthcare professionals who promote, maintain, and restore health through studying, diagnosing, and treating illnesses, injuries, and other physical ailments.

That's acceptable if it prefaces remarks about doctors, and your intention is to establish who doctors are and what they do, prior to beginning your remarks.

"Since now thank you" is meaningless in English.
