Quick easy question. What verb for "press" is used in the standard French phrasing in a phone menu for, "For French, press one" as in For English, press, two, etc. I found one Canadian French menu that used "appuyer" but I wondered if that was the same in Europe.
Thanks.

Jim

Yes, "appuyer" is OK.
This term is also used in France.

Thank you.

So it would be correct to say "Pour le Francais, appuyez une"?

No, it'd be better to say:

"Pour le français, appuyez sur un"
OR
"Pour le français, appuyez sur la touche une"
