Here stops ALL discussion. scientists are programmed to think a certain way,
They can't really think open and honestly anymore. They also can't apply logic.
Don't believe me? That is your right but the documents are there!
'education' is purposely created to dumb people down. So, the longer they are in the system, the dumber they are (like scientists). That is why I always have to laugh so hard when someone says to me he is a 'scientists'. It's like saying to me 'see what a dumb duck I am?". But, it is also sad in a way, because those 'scientists' are also a victim of a very deep sick malignant system.

@livinglava,
If you think quoting heresay about publishing scores and tenure is sufficient to make up for your own scientific ignorance you are not worth talking too.

This is my last post to you.

Everything you write indicates that you are an academic failure with a sour grapes problem. The mere fact that you think scientific theories could be 'right or wrong' rather than 'useful or limited' shows a complete lack of understanding of what science is about.
Of course, you could simply be here for the 'Troll of the Year' award, in which case I am pleased to inform you that you are a nominee.

You nailed that down soon enough. He was here a couple of years back under a different alias, and FM spotted him then. He is also obviously not a native speaker of English. So, apparently, trolling discussion fora constitutes his social life.

Grumpy wants 'mature conversation' ! Laughing
It reminds me of the sketch about the one legged actor applying for the role of Tarzan.

So you're saying there isn't any scientific research that fits the description I posted?

So you say that Lamarck had God doing all his thinking?

Naw, I was just blown away by what I considered the most crazy absurd Biblical prediction I knew of turning out to be scientifically verified.
That's assuming those father's bad behaviors could be related to their hate for God. I'm sure there are theological scholars who could make a case for that.

But I really liked this snippet from David Frum at The Atlantic, a man after your own heart. He compares questioning Evolution with wife beating and racism! Surprised he left out Hitler.
Quote:
David Frum, defending his debate with Steve Bannon:

Forceful interruption of public events is almost always wrong. If I see you reading a book that I dislike, I have no right to grab it from you. In a free society, there can be no equivalent of the Saudi religious police, monitoring public behavior and discourse and interrupting things of which they disapprove.

Yet the illegitimacy of violent interruptions of debate in general does not by itself justify any particular debate in specific. In 1860, Oxford University invited the biologist Thomas Huxley and Bishop Samuel Wilberforce to debate Darwin’s theory of evolution versus God’s design of the universe. No secular university would or should do such a thing today.

So no, I personally would not accept an invitation to debate “Resolved, husbands should be allowed to beat their wives,” or “Resolved, the white race is the best race.” I would strenuously object if any organization in which I had a role proposed to mount such a debate. If your group undertook to do it, I’d of course pay the taxes for your police protection, but I would not be happy about it, and I would not think you were contributing anything except mischief to our public life.

So, questioning Evolution is worse than racism, wife beating or even debating Steve Bannon. The man's fervent moral opposition is virtually religious. No wonder the OP questions why we do it...

@fresco,
You know Fresco, I read your post about OldGrumpy winning troll of the year award, and realised I haven't seen him/her create a post other than to troll. Never appears to actually contribute a thought of his/her own.

A quick look through their post history shows exactly that. Couldn't find any actual contribution. Just a troll.

@vikorr,
Yes. Around August 5th. George suggested Grump was that old pest who called himself Queequeg, during a tirade about 'modern physics'. Having failed there, he generalized his role as sceptic-in-chief by turning his axe grinding on evolution.

There's probably a PhD waiting for someone to write the thesis on 'Species of Forum Trolls from the Lonely, through the Holy Joe's to the Plain Demented'. We seem to have attracted the whole range over the years.

@Leadfoot,
Well, we recall. Rev Wilberforce, on his way to on of the Huxley shows, did suffer an accident when he was launched off his horse and hit his head upon a rock thus killing him.

Mr Huxley did not have anything nice to say about the rev after hearing about the incident.

Noone has ever claimed "purity of essence" when a good debate may break out. SO Im not surprised at how uncivil the whole history of the discovery associated with Darwin's theory has become.

Until the mid 1950;s various churches had better similies to deliver about "evolution" . Often, It was an "evil undertaking" , . So what the hell? Until the end of the various Butler Acts inthe Southern US states and the religious control exercised by the various Christian sects, evolution was often not allowed to be taught in schools.

History is usually loaded with comedy on all sides, but it usually works out.

So you think your Bible quote was based upon some cabalistic knowledge of epigentics?? Interesting take but wholly insufficient evidence to even consider as a hypothesis. Im not sure that "iniquity" corresponds to anything biological. (Unless this god was against smoking nd drinking and was able to write it all down)

did y ever meet Steve Bannon? I do read David Frum. Hes not Doctrinaire on his opinions , hes managed to 'evolve" his on beliefs over time. Like his backing of the Iraq war and now he says that it was a dumb view.

Atlantic still attempts to bring all sides into corraling an issue nd its good Mag. (IMHO)

If they are at the end of their crazy and lunatic evil-lotion rope, then the Troll card comes out. Nothing of any substance that show that evil-lotion is no FICTION.

Of course they can't, how can you prove a FAIRY TALE?

Yep, that's right, you can't.

But, people are spoonfed this nonsense starting as an innocent child.
I would call it child-abuse.

Evolution is proven by the simple fact you're not a Neanderthal. but then again, that is not at all self-evident that you aren't.
