I think they do that because they are quite happy with the things as they are at the moment. Evolution is the process of changing, development, that 's why people who stuck in money and religion deny it, fear it. Yes, the evolution is slow, but stagnation is forever.

Genetics is information for that matter everything else in the univeres could be seen as imformation. The event can be described as changing information. Death acts like information changing forms. God can be seen as the relativity in the information or syncranisity.
