Hope I'm not backtracking but the comment brings up a subject about which I've long pondered. Notwithstanding the need for space to accommodate matter, one q seldom approached is, why should there be anything at all

I can posit if not envision nothingness, that is no Universe, no space, nuttin'. Apparently, religion notwithstanding, the Universe itself is sort of "necessity'; though we can't help wondering just why
