Is "Love of beauty is taste" natural English? Is the word taste used properly here?

@OmSigDAVID,
Are you asking if you are obsessive-compulsive about having the last word (after that phoney-baloney crap about not "falling into" a long dialog)? I couldn't say, but it certainly looks like that's your problem.

@Setanta,

Sig is wrong on the question but he's right to point up that you are a major hypocrite, Set. Dave should not be answering a lot of questions on English, bit then neither should you, or Contrex for that matter.

Oooo . . . aren't you f*cking virtuous . . . once again, little Miss Can't Be Wrong. Why don't you entertain us with some of your whoppers about your childhood, those are always good for a laugh.

@Setanta,
When *******, I try always to be virtuous.

U appear to have a very, very delicate ego; super-delicate.

If my ego were delicate, i wouldn't spend any time conversing with compulsive liars with an inflated sense of their own intelligence, who love to vilify others. As for your self-appointed accountant's task, i would note first that it is an inferential admission on your part that you were incorrect, and amazing event. (That is, if by "rong," you mean wrong, which i assume because "rong" is not a word in the English language>)

Your horseshit story about "the commie next door" and the Sullivan act, and that horseshit story about carrying a pistol to school every day, and that horseshit story about being seduced when you were . . . what story are you peddling now? Eleven years old? You tell the biggest whoppers, and apparently expect to be believed.

@Setanta,
Did Dave say "the commie next door"? Where's the link if you'd like to offer?

@oristarA,
The sentence should start with 'The':

"The Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is Art."

Other than that there's nothing wrong with it.

@Setanta,
I dunno, but I suspect
that u really DO believe me,
but that u are hypocritically putting on this show to appear offensive,
because that is your chronic demeanor of choice
(tho, to your credit, it is nowhere near as bad
as u were several years ago).

I 'm retired, so I have abundant time on my hands.
Let 's take your allegations seriatim:

Setanta wrote:
Your horseshit story about "the commie next door" and the Sullivan act,
OK, so now u imply that during the 1930s and 1940s
there were no commies living next door to anyone in NY ?
Do u believe that ?
The guy was in love with Stalin; wud not shut up about the
Workers' Paradise on hot summer nites, over the backyard fence.
or is it that u cannot believe that commies ever discussed
NY 's Sullivan Law? This went on for years; to me,
that does not seem improbable. Will u be good enuf to reveal
what it is about that to make it among "the biggest whoppers"?

Setanta wrote:
and that horseshit story about carrying a pistol
to school every day,
No pistols; it was a .38 revolver,
the first in my collection. I carried it until I upgraded to a .44,
for better stopping power. What 's your point ?

Setanta wrote:
and that horseshit story about being seduced
when you were . . .
I asked u earlier, and u found it
impossible to reply to me, to indicate the basis of your alleged
skepticism. It can 't be personal, regarding my appearance
at age 11, because u have never met me; therefore, u are
in no position to adjudge me to have been so appalling
in my 11 year old persona that no woman nor any girl
cud possibly be erotically attracted to me then.
Is there a flaw in my reasoning ?

Accordingly, I take the inference that u believe that girls and women
CANNOT be erotically attracted to any 11 year old boy,
no matter how good or bad he looks. Tell me if I 'm rong.

Setanta wrote:
what story are you peddling now?
Well, I 've discussed some of my life 's adventures as the threads factually evolve
and remind me of relevant learning experiences, but no "peddling";
thay are free (see, Contrex?).

Setanta wrote:
Eleven years old?
Yes; for some of my experiences,
not for all of them.

Setanta wrote:

I fail to detect any plausibility problem.
I have not alleged any huge accomplishments.
I have withheld reference to any impressive achievements.
What 's the big deal?
U have never indicated the basis of your (alleged) skepticism.

( I expect your response to be limited to a broad, vague, short, perhaps obscene
personal insult, avoiding the inquiry. )

Yes. The commie next door was Comrade Murray.
Tho his hatred of free enterprize knew no bounds,
he had his own business; he was a furrier.

It wud have been fun to have another conversation
with him on Christmas of 1991. We lost track of him long before then.
