Still on the "intelligence" topic-
These Russian atheist feminists chainsawed down a cross in Kiev in protest at Christianity's "oppression of women"

Ah blondes, what would we do without 'em?..Wink
Wonder which part of this they think is "oppressive"?-

"There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28 )
The early Christian group in Phrygia was led by Montanus and two preachers, Priscilla and Maximilla..
The evangelist Philip had four daughters who were preachers;
And Paul paid glowing tributes to women -"I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church in Cenchrea..she has been a great help to many people, including me..
Greet Priscilla , my fellow worker in Christ Jesus, she risked her life for me.
Greet Mary, who worked very hard for you..
Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa and Persis, those women who work hard in the Lord.
Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother, who has been a mother to me, too.
Greet Julia.." (Romans ch 16)
Jesus said to the snooty priests-"Prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you" (Matt 21:31)

@edgarblythe,
Do you actually think. ed, that it is normal or acceptable to barge into a discussion that other people are having to announce that you have no interest in what they are discussing.

And when you consider the number of threads on A2K it is quite odd to have picked out this thread to be uninterested in.

As for the "bone head atheists" I will concede your right to believe Setanta's assertions about them.

@edgarblythe,
You've never seen me with knickers down like Setanta had there. It was indefensible.

You don't see Christians forming a circle like atheists do.

@spendius,
That's not so. They form dozens of circles, because they are splintered groups that can't agree which circle is correct. They fight among themselves almost as much as they fight science.

@edgarblythe,
This is a splintered group. No matter the stupidity of an atheist's post, and there have been a lot, and I mean a lot, it won't be challenged by another atheist.

And notice how few Christians will take me on. Most will have nothing to do with me. If I had posted on all the threads to inform the participants that I was not interested in what they were going on about, nobody would have come to my defence.

In fact, Setanta choosing a thread like this to do just that, tells me that religion is very important to him. He signals it. So him saying he wasn't interested in this thread was a falsehood. He has chosen to read it as well. From thousands of others.

And then to start wittering about "bone-head atheists" is just another piece of self-flattery. And to have "known" them without defining what "known" consists of. That's just an insult to our intelligence.

Drivel. Trolling. Nothing to say but had a need to see his name up in lights on the silver screen.

Yes there are lots of dickhead groups around like Mormons, JW's, Pentecostals, Rapturists, Fatalists, Catholics, Alpha Coursists etc with satans fingerprints all over them, but they can't get under Jesus's radar, he said-
"Not all who call me "Lord,Lord" will enter the kingdom of heaven. Then I'll tell them plainly, I never knew you, GET AWAY FROM ME" (Matt 7:21-23)
He also told us how to spot them- "Beware of false prophets, you will know them by their fruits... every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit...Therefore by their fruits you'll know them" (Matt 7:15-20)

in other words their **** beliefs and **** actions are a dead giveaway..Smile

As for Christians "fighting science", I don't know any who are.
Most modern Christians regard scientists as having God-given gifts to use for the benefit of mankind..Smile

@spendius,
BTW--I think atheists are less intelligent than Christians by a distance. That's why they never made any headway in respect of being trusted to build and manage either the Roman Empire or our own Empire.

They chuntered on the sidelines. For ******* ever and ******* ever.

Should I doubt your intelligence?

You have said several times that you were an atheist.

The Romans had a religion, it wasn't mythology to a lot of them.

In a sense, the young Jeremiah was possibly a sort-of atheist, because when he got the call from God to be a prophet he didn't exactly turn handsprings of delight-

Jeremiah said- "The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart,
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations”
“Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”
But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young. Today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant

So maybe Jeremiah's doubts are echoed in atheists today, who might mistakenly think they don't fit into God's plan..

@spendius,
I don't speak for the other atheists and I sure don't speak for the deists and agnostics. No need to ask about me that's the same as asking about you.

@Romeo Fabulini,
Script writers wrote what was on Jesus's radar Romeo. Miliband is performing a low-key version.

Do you not see that Jesus's refusal to cash in on being able to raise the dead and turn water into wine is one His main claims to fame. As an absolute virtuous person. There's no chance that one of the Apostles didn't suggest it. One of them sold out for a pittance.

It would sure put the shits up the powers that be if Jesus returned in a less virtuous frame of mind.

I have told you--the Madonna and Child is the Prime Symbol of our Christianity. A Gothic construction. Jesus was a Magian.

He is something like Marx became to Communists. 2000 years of Church history is a wee bit more complex that you are allowing for.

Our politicians do that sort of thing when they have just been elected. Gloating is in bad taste.

1-And i've told you mate, Mary was no doubt a nice gel but she couldn't help poor Fredo-

2- If 'Magian' means 'Magician', Jesus is a hard act to follow unless David Blaine or David Copperfield have raised some corpses back to life and i missed it..Smile

3- As for "2000 years of church history", I don't give a rat's ass about organised religions and cults because Jesus said :-"You have ONE teacher, ME" (Matt 23:10)

I love that answer. That sums up it up nicely.

It's probably because nobody knows who or what you are mate, sometimes your posts seem to indicate you're a christian, sometimes an atheist, sometimes a catholic, sometimes a JW etc. Your profile is a blank (like many other scaredy-cats at A2K) and it's therefore impossible to hold a conversation with a flip-flopping disembodied voice hiding under the bed..Smile

@Romeo Fabulini,
as i see that some of atheists that believe in evolution may be smart as many are famous physicists but you cant judge a brain power on religious beliefs so as i think that atheists may not be smarter rather than more open minded to the idea of science and creation of evolution as others that follow a certain relgion must live by rules doesnt make you any bit smarter if your an atheist in my opinion...

@Romeo Fabulini,
A profile means nothing Romeo. They are generally rose-coloured twaddle. I've learned nothing from yours. Plenty from your posts.

And my profile is not blank. It says a lot more about me than yours does about you. Who cares how old you are? Everybody who reads my posts know how old I am. They know where I come from too. They know what I do and my interests are obvious.
