Could having whooping cough affected my first period?

I'm 14 1/2 and still dont have my first period. I have been developing for maybe a little more than 3 years. Not to long ago I got whooping cough REALLY bad. I have had it (but am not contagious anymore) for almost 3 months.I got it to the point where I couldn't breathe. I went to the doctor and got on a med. Could it have affected getting my first period?
