drifter: one who drifts
drift, drifting: literally, to go with the flow, like a boat with no rudder.

In common useage, a drifter is a person without a career or a regular job. My computer language translation program came up with a three character answer that I am unable to post, though it did a pretty good job of translating your original post (I think):
