How to treat a girl on first date?

I totally support Jespah's advice... Here's my tip which always worked 4 me.

Be nice, be cordial, be gentlemanly, be funny, be unexpected, make her laugh... make the date fun... doesn't necessarily have to be all romantic stuff.

Sometime during the date, give her something to make her remember the date... Here's my example. I like origami --> http://www.origami-instructions.com/ so at the end of a date I would do a paper swan, or paper flower etc... you don't need to buy any thing. Just a small souvenir for her...

If you don't know origami, a flower from a garden where you passed by or something of the sort will do the trick...
