@Ragman,
I did. It wasn't clear to me you knew he saw a doctor in the first place.

@ossobuco,
Don't want you to feel left out of this:

Mel Brooks High Anxiety movie. The scene pans over to Mel's character...as he sits in a park reading a book on a bench. Silently at first...a few pigeons fly over and rest on a jungle gym behind him...one at a time..then several at a time. Then they flock together....and one-by-one ...then an all-out attack...start bombing him..with poop...much in the tradition of Alfred Hitchcock movies The Birds.

BTW, in case some people might not be aware ... often times you have more success if you click on the link below the video clip and not on the arrow for the Youtube clip itself. Higher success rate than clicking on the clip itself. It bring you right over to Youtube and plays it while there.

Contrary to Dale, I take your anxiety as related to your lymph node stuff - at least at this point.
Could well be, Oss. However, the sore node might trigger an incipient psychological condition, a predisposition that might warrant exploration

@Ragman,
That is how it works sometimes - 1 in 25 or 30... for me and my #$%^& mac.

Anyway, that's funny and apropos.

@dalehileman,
Not quite sure what that means, but the swollen nodes aren't sore anymore. They started out large and painful, and eventually the swelling went down and they no longer hurt, but they never made it back to normal size. Also about a week ago I noticed a strange pattern of what looked like scars on my back. There's probably 5-6 different ones, anywhere from a quarter inch long to 2 inches. I would estimate all of them to be about 2-3 mm wide. They're all within a diameter of about 4 inches. Regardless they feel like scar tissue and are slightly painful when I apply pressure and rub. I'm 99% sure I wasn't scratched by anything and they've been there for about a week and haven't changed at all.

As for the doctor visit, I'm still planning to ask my mom to schedule an appointment when she comes home tomorrow.

@dalehileman,
OK, I talked to my mom and now we can't decide whether to see a dermatologist or GI specialist. I personally would like to see both but my mom just wants to see the GI specialist, as she doesn't seem too concerned about the spots on my skin. She's mostly concerned with my nausea and how it's causing me to miss school.

Without revealing anything critical to your ID some of us might be better able to help if we knew something more about you, eg; age, sex, nat'l or eth, ed.,fam, relig, genl health, etc
