I'd like to know how to translate "brother mine" into Latin. The best I've come up with is "frater meus" or "frater mei", but I believe that is simply "my brother". I need an accurate translation as it is intended as a tattoo (forgive the cliche) in memory of my brother. I always referred to him as brother mine, so I'd like the words to translate to precisely that. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me.

@EMB82,
I think I would translate it frater meus as well.

How would you define the differnce between "brother mine" and "my
brother" in English other than to say one is more poetic than the other?

@George,
That's an interesting question! I don't know to be honest, I don't know when or why I started calling him that, I must have picked up somewhere, a book or a film probably. To be honest I don't come across Latin scholars very often, so I'm unlikely to have anyone question the translation!
Thanks very much for your reply.

You're welcome, EMB82.
And I'm sorry for your loss.
