Last night at WalMart they were clearing shelves of Christmas related items and filling them with Valentines day items so I guess it must be time to move on to the next holiday. Shocked

Seems a bit premature, but what the heck. Can Mother's Day be far away?

Isn't that the truth, I could not believe my eyes. But then it was WalMart.

Hey, it's only logical. If the stores start with Christmas in August, why not Valentine's Day in December?

Terrible news. Haven't seen that here, but I do have to shop today.

I'm feeling very Christmassy, myself. Have done two evenings worth of seasonal frivolities which really help to get me into the mood. So I'm sure not going let WalMart spoil this good feeling! (I've never shopped a WalMart but once, and I didn't find what I wanted then.)

D'artagnan - Sadly no, but it is my nickname for the little community where I come from in south Puget Sound, Vaughn Bay. If you say it fast a couple of times, you will see how easily it turns into Bombay.

Joanne, I can't believe it!! Haven't been in Walmart, but if you saw it, I'll probably see it here in CT.
Fie on marketing--I'm with the rest of you, in the merry mood of the holidays.

Well, let's see ... before Valentine's Day is over, it'll be Easter stuff, shortly after that Independence Day, then Halloween about the middle of July, then Christmas all over again! It won't be long, folks. Keep on checking your local Wal-mart!

I would bet it is not just WalMart I was at Dillard's and Nordstorm as well and they all the Christmas stuff was on display and being moved around, probably to make room for Valentine's stuff.

If I remember correctly most stores had Christmas stuff out before Halloween this year.
