Hello All,
I get confused in usage of word 'that'.
For ex: after word 'specifies' we should not use 'that', why?
Is there any rule specified for where not to use and where to use ?
Please, let me know.
Thank you,
Regards,
Prajwal
@prajwal,
You'll have to explain further, Prajwal and please provide some example sentences that illustrate the particular usage of 'that' that you mean.

Who told you that?
The design drawing specifies that stainless steel must be used for the bolts.
@contrex,
Quote:Who told you that?
The design drawing specifies that stainless steel must be used for the bolts.
Is this really you speaking, Contrex, or have you stolen this too?

Quit trolling, General Tojo.
@prajwal,
Praj I'm no grammarian but there's no rule about using "that" after "specifies"
It only specifies that particular instance
…...specifies that only John Freebose be prosecuted
However he specifies that we not prosecute small children
Etc
