U don t have a 2nd Amendment there.
U DID have the benefit of the English Bill of Rights of 1689
( 1OO years b4 ours was written ) protecting civilian weapons possession,
tho sadly (as I remember) it said: "as allowed by law".

re Romeo:

No, it is NOT "the sign of the devil". It is, in fact, the opposite. The most common meaning is for good luck, or to ward off bad luck. It's often used particularly around the Mediterranean, to ward off the bad luck of "the evil eye". Staring with Parliament/Funkadelic in the 7os, and then adopted by heavy metal fans, and then by Britney Spears fans (which pretty much killed it, not surprisinglhy), and now widespread among fans of any kind of loud music, it means you support some band or just music in general. It's also in common use among sports fans, for example at UT Austin, where it means "Hook 'em, Horns", for their football team. Thge fingers are the horns.

I notice Romeo immediately assigns a racist interpretation to it, as he usually does--he apparently thinks it's blacks doing it so it must be the sign of the devil. Utter bull, Romeo (bull--horns--get it?)

Thay were the ones
that were manually gesturing in that particular fashion,
which was the subject matter of my question.
I have seen entertainers gesture thusly (sometimes with both hands)
and members of their audiences reciprocally return that signal.
I know not what it means. I 've seen it for several years.

Zimmerman continues to walk in the path of other sleazy "celebrities" who can't let go of the spotlight after their notoriety begins to fade. This boxing stunt is his latest move to satisfy his craving for media attention..

I'm still waiting for his porno flick. Laughing

George Zimmerman wants to box rapper DMX in celebrity bout, but no deal yet
By Saeed Ahmed and Carma Hassan, CNN
Wed February 5, 2014

CNN) -- Let's get ready to ... mumble.

As in, what now, George Zimmerman?

Seems like the former neighborhood watchman has found yet another way to remain in the public limelight.

This time, he'll be stepping into a boxing ring. Although no contract has been signed, a promoter is negotiating with rapper DMX to fight him, according to the promoter and a rep for DMX.

"DMX has promised to 'beat his ass,' but no contract or paperwork has been signed or agreed to yet," DMX spokesman Domenick Nati told CNN Wednesday.

Zimmerman said the celebrity boxing match was his idea. Boxing was his hobby, he told Radar Online last month, even prior to the "incident."

The incident, of course, is the February 2012 encounter in which he shot dead an unarmed Trayvon Martin, 17. He stood trial for murder but was acquitted last year.

"Prior to the incident, I was actually going to the gym for weight loss and doing boxing-type training for weight loss," he told Radar.

"A mutual friend put me in contact with Damon and provided me with an opportunity and motivation to get back in shape and continue with my weight loss goals and also be able to help a charity out."

Damon is Damon Feldman, owner of Celebrity Boxing and a self-described opportunist whose claim to fame is putting together bizarre matchups. Think Tonya Harding, Michael Lohan.

He said last week that he was accepting offers for someone to step into the ring for a three-round, pay-per-view fight with Zimmerman.

"The news has been out for an hour and my e-mail is overloaded with 8,000 people wanting to fight George," Feldman told CNN on Thursday.

Early Wednesday morning, he said he'd picked the contender. Out of more than 15,000 e-mailed requests, he's going with DMX.

"The match will be one of the Biggest Celebrity Boxing matches of all time," his news release said (uppercase emphasis his).

But in order to find out where and when it will take place, we'll have to wait until next week. Feldman said Wednesday he was shooting for March 15.

DMX, as we know is a rapper, and braggadocio is his calling card.

He's out for blood, he told TMZ. Not only will he break every rule in boxing, he said, he'll "beat the living (expletive)" out of Zimmerman.

Ian Karmel, a writer for "Chelsea Lately," has a better idea.

"They should send Floyd Mayweather to the ring and tell George Zimmerman it's DMX," he tweeted. "He won't know the difference."

Not everyone welcomes the chance to see Zimmerman taking punches. Rev. Al Sharpton told a Los Angeles group Wednesday that he was concerned "about the precedent that it sets."

"We must be very careful not to glorify or in any way sidestep the implications of making someone whose only claim to fame was killing an unarmed young man named Trayvon Martin into a cultural celebrity or hero," Sharpton said.

A petition has been launched on Change.org calling for the planned boxing event to be canceled. "This is a blatant show of disrespect and nothing positive or righteous would come from such a stunt," it reads.

This is the man who claimed he couldn't defend himself against an unarmed kid, who only landed a single punch on him, except by shooting him. Rolling Eyes

I hope his opponent this time really beats the crap out of him.

@firefly,
Amazing you was so happy postings that he could never earn a living and he might be driven to suicide as a matter of fact.

Now you are complaining that he is daring to made used of the very spotlight that people like you and Jackson and Sharpton and other race baiters had turn on him by falsely claiming he was a racist killer of an innocent child to earn a living instead of doing what you would wish him to do IE eat his gun.

My bet is he would had been happier if Trayvon had never attacked him and he could have live his life without that spotlight but as long as it there interfering with how he would normally earn a living he is very bright to find a way to made use of it for his benefits.

To sum up the man is one hell of a survivor.

George Zimmerman Wants to Profit Off Trayvon Martin’s Death

Become a star for shooting and killing a black teenager? That’s just what will happen if a “celebrity” boxing match is allowed to happen.

When I read the headline that George Zimmerman—the guy who shot and killed Trayvon Martin—was going to fight rapper DMX in a “celebrity boxing match,” I assumed I was reading, The Onion. This had to be a joke, right?

But unfortunately it’s not. Celebrity boxing promoter and “self described opportunist,” Damon Feldman announced that Zimmerman and DMX had agreed to step into the ring together. As Feldman boasted, “the match will be one of the Biggest Celebrity Boxing matches of all time.”

This event is truly despicable. I can’t even imagine the pain that the media reports of this boxing match must be causing the parents of Trayvon Martin. First, they lose their son. And now the man who killed him, will be starring in a TV special where he’s considered a “celebrity.”

Let’s be clear: this is far from the typical celebrity boxing match that Feldman has set up in the past which featured the likes of Tanya Harding, Jose Canseco and Michael Lohan. This match showcases a man who shot and killed someone. That is the sole reason we know the name George Zimmerman and why he is considered a “celebrity.”

To make matters worse, Feldman had originally scheduled to announce the fight by way of a press conference on Martin’s birthday. He since moved the announcement to next week, pleading ignorance of Martin’s birthday. (Or was Feldman just trying to get more publicity for the fight by scheduling the press conference on that day?)

Simply put: Zimmerman—with the help of DMX and Feldman—are seeking to profit off the killing a black teenager. And, yes I know that Zimmerman claims he will donate all the proceeds from the fight to “charity.” Which charity? Does it involve one that supports “Stand Your Ground” laws? Is connected to any gun manufactures? Is it his legal defense fund?

Even if Zimmerman is truly not being paid for his appearance, the publicity that he will receive from starring in this event has a dollar value. And more disturbingly, it’s part of Zimmerman’s strategy to transform himself from a person known as the killer of a teenager to a buffoonish, reality show star. This is clearly a step by Zimmerman to rehabilitate his image so he can hopefully profit off his fame down the line.

I know that some will not have a problem with this match. Zimmerman was acquitted of criminal charges in connection with Martin’s murder and only 31% of white Americans disapproved of the verdict. But it’s my hope that even those who agreed with the jury’s decision will still be disgusted by Zimmerman, DMX, and Feldman’s profiting off of Martin’s death.

And look, I don’t begrudge Feldman from earning a buck or even getting rich from promoting “celebrity boxing matches.” Although it should be noted that Feldman does have a checkered past. He was charged in 2010 with six counts of violating Pennsylvania’s Boxing Act. The then attorney general (and now-governor) Tom Corbett commented, “The only thing that appears to be ‘real’ about any of these events is the money that went into Mr. Feldman’s pocket and the media attention that he received.” (Feldman plead guilty to some of the charges and was sentenced to two years probation.)

But there are plenty other celebrity fights that Feldman can promote where he can make a profit and not feature Zimmerman. Here are just a few ideas:

1. The Real Housewives of New Jersey versus Chris Christie —I’m sure they were pissed over the traffic caused by Bridgegate.

2. Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson versus The Bachelor’s Juan Pablo Galavis—who will win the title of “most homophobic reality show star?”

3. Donald Trump versus Bill Maher- they have been feuding for years.

4. Sean Hannity versus Michael Savage—these two conservative radio hosts have recently ratchet up their rivalry. In fact, I would pay to be at this bout.

Damon Feldman should cancel this event. And if he decides to go forward with the fight, then as a society we should not be complicit in Feldman’s scheme by supporting it in any way. We shouldn’t buy it on Pay-per-view nor should the media provide the event with free publicity. Our collective sense of decency and the memory of Trayvon Martin deserve at least that much.

Too bad they could not have the match happening on the birthday of this would be killer as that what he happen to had been.

Once more Zimmerman is a victim not the dead Trayvon.

A victim first of Trayvon, then the race baiters/news media that in some manner turn a mixed race Latin man without a racial bone in his body into a KKK type cold blooded killer of a poor black child, then the politicians that short circuit the normal crime justice system workings to bring unsupported charges against him.

Good for him if he is finding means to turn lemons into lemonade.

I don t give any part of a rat about this,
but now I feel morally OBLIGATED to fight against political correctness
by supporting the fight and supporting Zimmy.

I really don t wanna be bothered with this.
