Florida appeals court on Wednesday granted George Zimmerman's request for a new judge.
Zimmerman, the former neighborhood watch volunteer charged in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin, had said the judge presiding over his case has made disparaging remarks about him.
The Fifth District Court of Appeal wrote in a decision that Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. should "enter an order of disqualification which requests the chief circuit judge to appoint a successor judge." .........
Isn't it wonderful the way reality sets in on these things sooner or later?
Anybody wanna bet that a real judge doesn't simply dismiss the charges against Zimmerman?
Someone (probably either you or Hawkeye or BillRM) recently posted that Zimmerman's lawyers have now made a Stand Your Ground claim and asked the judge to dismiss the case.
Last I heard they were going to move to have the charges dismissed on a pure self-defense basis. There was non question of standing his ground, Zimmerman was pinned to the ground and was in the process of being beaten to death at the time.
