Police kill unarmed man after car accident

That doesn't surprise me at all. In fact, I'm willing to bet if an armless black man (without both arms) were hopping on one leg begging police for help they would have shot him, claiming self defense.

In New York a few years back, an immigrant African man was shot multiple times and all the police found on him was a wallet with a couple of dollars. The police said they thought he was reaching for a gun.

Black undercover policemen have been shot by fellow officers in New York....sadly, cannot prove it was intentional or not.

@Frank Apisa,
Just replied underneath your name Frank..

More of a "statement" with thoughts on them as a couple. Better written down, as we never know what comes out as you get further down the track with situations like this.

Take no notice Smile

@Moment-in-Time,
LOL and white undercover cops had never been shot by fellow cops by error only black ones!!!!!!

Whites are never killed by cops due to errors in cops thinking the person was about to used a firearm against them.

You are not only a racist but an illogical racist..........at that.

@revelette,

there have been way too many stories of late about incompetent/corrupt cops. kind of makes you empathize with George, who after doing his best to help keep his neighborhood safe found himself yet again waiting for cops to help, in the rain, knowing that to date they were always late and useless.

George hadn't called 911 that night--he had called a non-emergency number because nothing urgent was going on--so there was no need for a swift response on the part of the police. And, there was no need for any sort of response on Zimmerman's part, he should have remained in his car and waited for the police.

It's difficult to empathize with George Zimmerman's poor judgment and lack of self-control that night...

And when an urgent response from the police was needed, because George Zimmerman was acting threatening and menacing, and his wife feared for her safety from him, 8 police units arrived on the scene quickly.

It's difficult to see how George Zimmerman keeps any neighborhood safe when he's either recklessly stalking and shooting and killing people, or threatening to shoot someone...

Makes one wonder who's safe from George Zimmerman...

@firefly,
the story above makes me wonder who is safe from the agents of the state. last week I was reading about a crime lab that for years lied about test results to help prosecutors win cases, tens of thousands of convictions and plea deals are now suspect.

the state has a lot more power over me than does George, I think I will worry more about the state.

Given your penchant for scoffing at laws, you should worry that they might come after you.

you and Obama both, constantly yakking about how the government needs more power over us to save us, but you never want to talk about problems with the work it already does, or is supposed to be doing.

@hawkeye10,
I think there are problems with the government allowing unstable individuals, like George Zimmerman, to continue carrying a gun.

that is why you are a police state advocate, you are blind to the misbehaviour of the state

I screwed up again. Happened in N.C. not Flordia. The cop might even lose his job.

Why?

Man charging cop after the cop reached the scene matching the description of a man reported trying to break into the woman home.

Seems any reasonable person would not just assume that it some harmless person just seeking aid under those conditions.

Do not see how the color of the man skin matter one way or another as most women would be concern over a male stranger of whatever color pounding on her door and most cops would be concern about a man charging/running at them under those conditions.

He didn't know his target, he didn't know the danger and he used a taser.

I don't know enough about the case to draw any conclusions about the merits of the charges, but my understanding is that the cop has been charged with manslaughter.

My God Bill....

Don't you realize it isn't illegal to run toward a police officer?
