Local police chief has 'concerns' about Zimmerman
By James Novogrod, NBC News

The police chief in the Florida city where George Zimmerman lives expressed concerns Thursday that Zimmerman remains able to carry a gun, even after repeated run-ins with police following his acquittal this summer in the Trayvon Martin killing.

“I’m a small-town police chief. If I had the authority to revoke his firearm license, I would certainly sit down and consider that,” Steve Bracknell, the chief of police in Lake Mary, said during a telephone interview with NBC News.

“Does anyone else except me see a pattern?” Bracknell continued. “The word firearm keeps popping up.”

Bracknell's officers responded Monday to a domestic dispute between Zimmerman and his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman, who told a 911 dispatcher that Zimmerman had threatened her with a gun and punched her father in the nose.

Police reports released Wednesday — with the Zimmermans’ names redacted — provided conflicting accounts of the argument. Police said no gun was found on George Zimmerman -- and his wife and other witnesses later said they had not actually seen a firearm. No charges have been filed.

But in an email exchange reported Thursday by the website Think Progress, Bracknell told a concerned citizen that Zimmerman had a gun in his car.

“We did not have the authority to search his truck. He DID have a firearm in the truck. Having a firearm is not a violation of Florida law,” Bracknell wrote.

The chief also wrote in response to the citizen's suggestion that police in Florida were covering for Zimmerman, "REST ASSURED, the last thing on planet earth I want is ANY relationship with the Zimmermans. PERIOD."

Reached Thursday evening by telephone, Bracknell authenticated the email exchange to NBC News, confirming he authored the responses. The chief downplayed the significance of the exchange, saying he was simply making an effort to respond to a concerned citizen.

But Bracknell told NBC News he has "concerns" about Zimmerman. "I think a lot of people do,” Bracknell said.

In July, a Florida jury found Zimmerman not guilty of second degree murder and manslaughter in the shooting death last year of Martin, an unarmed 17-year-old.

Zimmerman, a former neighborhood watch volunteer, said he acted in self-defense and that Martin attacked him.

When Zimmerman was acquitted, he retained his state-issued concealed-carry gun permit.

Since the trial, Zimmerman has also been pulled over twice for speeding. On the first occasion, in Forney, Texas, Zimmerman told police he had a gun in his glove compartment, according to police dash-cam video...

During my Freshman year I tried weed, cocaine at a campus party; there was a marijuana cig passed around laced with heroin. My family's upbringing was so instilled in me that that was the last time I touched cocaine and heroin. I have had marijuana at parties on and off....my stimulant is wine/sherry.

As a kid did you take part in having stolen women jewelry or try to beat a man to death for that matter?

In college with courses loads of 21 credit hours a semester my drug happen to be caffeine a hell of a lot of caffeine one pot of coffee after another pot of coffee.

Not a lot of time to go to parties with or without drugs.

Saint George and Mother Shellie are quite frankly as bad as each other. He, in my eyes, is a loose cannon, a compulsive lier and a thief. She, is a thief and a compulsive lier, they should stay together.

I haven't paid much attention to Shellie, at least not until her call of panic to the police against her estranged husband. If she lied before the trial regarding their finances, then I would suspect she did so on behalf of her husband which is consider normal spousal behavior.

In my opinion after reading below as well as the thousands of dollars she transferred back and forth, personal bills she paid that people helped raise for his Court Case, clearly shows that she decided to call 911 deliberately.

Your above statement is not too clearly defined. If she "transferred back-n-forth, personal bills, etc" she did so according to her husband's discretion. She was in court most of the time during George's trail which revealed a certain amount of loyalty. In my opinion, she rang for the police out of sheer fear; it seems she is afraid of her husband's outburst of anger, and his possible loss of mental balance. I do not believe there was anything calculating about her call, which imo, was motivated by emotional fear.

I suspect O'Mara, George's lawyer, had a great deal to do with charges being dropped; he was looking out for George Zimmerman's future. After all, if George had been arrested and his gun taken away along with charges of spousal abuse, his personal reputation would be ruined for a long time on top of the reality that many people believed he murdered Travyon Martin in cold blood....People might look more than twice before hiring the killer.

The money from George's web account is income for them both as neither has a job at this time. The money from his account could have been stopped to Shellie if she had gone ahead with pressing charges and only restored after a trial in family court.

Found Soul quoted:
"Shellie Zimmerman at some point hit her husband with her iPad, George Zimmerman told investigators.

Police officers asked George Zimmerman to remove his shirt so they could see if there were marks on his back. "There were no signs of trauma, redness or marks of any kind in the area where he said he was struck," the report said."

I certainly do not blame Shellie for hitting George over the head with her iPad. After all, we saw what that unstable creature did to Trayvon who was just walking with a hoodie pulled over his head and he found himself dead from the hands of a psychotic.

From my reading of your highly unconventional posts you were wise not to experiment with something stronger than coffee. Hell, it appear you need all the mental clarity you can get and then some!

BULLSHIT my check and the thousands of others checks was not income in any sense of the word income.

Some people will see instantly that Zimmerman is an undeniable powder keg....a time bomb just waiting to explode. His facade consists of a conspicuous behavioral pattern. We have not heard the last of the vigilante "hero."

@BillRM,
Of course the hand-out you sent him was income--and it's what Zimmerman and his wife have been living on.

Better keep sending him more--this unstable misfit will never be able to get a job. Who would hire him? Even the Lake Mary Chief of Police thinks he's a ticking time bomb, who shouldn't be walking around with a gun.

Yes, dummy, Zimmerman can't even abide by the traffic laws. He was stopped by the police twice within a short period of time.

The money you sent him will help to pay his $256 speeding ticket. Laughing

Now that O'Mara has bailed out on him, he'll have to find himself a new criminal attorney. It's only a matter of time until he'll need one again...

And now, thanks to Zimmerman's reckless behavior, and run-ins with the police, they all know where he lives.

The man is too out-of-control, and stupid, to even be able to keep a low profile.

Most people would prefer he just disappear back into the woodwork.

@Frank Apisa,
No, your wrong Frank. I meant just what I said. I have no compassion for people like these who would libel a 17 year old murdered kid because they think supporting Saint George boosts their idea of a gun in every church. They are insane and I would be willing to bet that if they were examined by a head doctor none of them would be allowed to carry a gun.

Don Lemon to George Zimmerman: ‘Have You Any Decency?’
Sep 12, 2013
By Don Lemon

Two words for you: George Zimmerman. A lot of people have a lot of questions for him lately, including his estranged wife, that’s a whole other show though. However there is one question that I haven’t heard anybody say, and I think we should be asking him, and we should be asking ourselves. And I’ll tell you what that question is in just a moment. I’m going to speak directly to George Zimmerman, though, because I hope he hears this segment and if you know him, please send the clip to him. Email it to him.

George, since your acquittal just a few weeks ago you have been caught speeding twice, once in Texas where you got off with a warning, the other time in your home state of Florida, where you did finally get a ticket.

In the latest incident, with your soon to be ex-wife, and her father, it’s not clear yet whether you broke the law, but police did come, they did question you, and it’s being investigated as a possible domestic battery case because you allegedly hit her father and smashed your wife’s iPad because she was recording you with it. Police say they didn’t recover a gun at the scene, but the woman you were with said that you had one in your vehicle.

And then, George, you had the audacity to take a big, cheesy smiley picture while touring the gun factory where the type of gun you used to kill Trayvon Martin is made. You didn’t break the law with that one, but you certainly broke every rule relating to decency, and empathy, and couth.

George Zimmerman, haven’t you any shame? Have you no decency? No self-awareness.

Don’t you realize that while you escaped a life sentence the person you killed no longer has a life, and even though you were acquitted, like it or not, the reality is that there are many people around the world who are convinced that you got away with murder. And perhaps you should spare those people, especially Trayvon Martin’s grieving mother and father, the unwanted burden, of having to see or hear about you in the media, in some cases seemingly gloating for your good fortune and your freedom. Spare them. Spare us. Take the advice of a person who knows all too well about the media spotlight: Donald Trump, who said about you, it’s good for everybody if he disappears. This has been a really hard, traumatic verdict for the country. And then Trump went on to finish his statement by saying that you, George, should “disappear for his own sake, and for the country’s sake.”

Why don’t you take a cue from Donald Trump, from Casey Anthony even and disappear from the spotlight. OJ didn’t take that advice and you see where that got him. Everyone, including many who supported you, George, are now scratching their heads wondering why after a trial where you got off Scott free that you haven’t taken a seat, that you haven’t taken several seats. But what I really think is a better question for you, George, and for your supporters, the one that I want everyone listening today to ask themselves:

Why does a man who insisted that everyone follows the rules in law, especially Trayvon Martin, keep breaking the law himself?

Billrm, you transparently have comprehension problems or your thorough lack of just basic common knowledge is staggering. "Income" may be derived from several sources. For instance, monetary (gifts) or other returns, either earned or unearned, accruing over a given period of time to an account such as what George Zimmerman set up. This money contributed by Zimmerman supporters (A large cash gift of more than $14,000 in 2013 may be subject to taxes.) will have come to the killer's web account as additional funds, and he might have to pay the IRS taxes on this unearned income. GIFTS OF MONEY is considered income.

@Moment-in-Time,
My my you are a tax law expert.................???????

Somehow once more I question that small cash gifts are income no matter how must they might add up to in total, but I am sure you will quote the sections of the tax laws and any tax court decisions that support your position.

Oh over 14,000 dollars, as in one person giving over 14,000 dollars, as I question if any one person wrote him a check for over 14,000 dollars.

In any case, I been thinking that we should start a fund to paid for a world wide tour for the man so he could get away from all the pressure he is now under and that fund could also help pay any taxes that might be owing also.

A 17 year old hoodlum willing to attacked a stranger in the manner Trayvon attacked Zimmernam is not a kid anymore then I am willing to apply that label to the younger of the two DC snipers, or the two young hoodlums one even younger then Trayvon who had just beaten to death the 88 years old world war two vet.

Sorry no compassion for killers or in the case of Trayvon a would be killer.

All my compassion go to the victims of these so call kids including Zimmerman
