@BillW,
I'm not a betting person either, but even from my personal perspective, those odds stink! LOL

well, this can be construed as the actions of a depraved mind.......

Murder 2 is back on the table folks.!
Because Zimmy KNEW
that police were only a moment away (since he called them, himself),
obviously, he was not going to commit a felony right in front
of them
, as thay approached the scene, possibly observing from a distance,
in addition to any other eye witnesses in this well populated area.

Additionally, he knew very well that any number of residents
might well have been taking motion pictures everything that was happening.

Accordingly, he did what he knew to be legally correct.

This case is a joke and never had any substance.

@OmSigDAVID,
Hey dummy, he was instructed to stay in his car.
He didn't listen to the "REAL" police.

The state is just about ready to rest their case--they may finish today.

The defense is apparently not quite ready to begin, they wanted the court to recess Friday to allow them more time, but, so far, the judge has denied that request.

@parados,
It really depends on the situation. If I was jumped like Zimmerman claims then yes, I would shoot someone for starting a fight I didn't want any part of. If I started the fight (which would never happen) and I was loosing, then no I wouldn't shoot someone.

I have a glass jaw and have been knocked out before. I was fortunate to have friends around who stopped the fight when I hit the ground unresponsive. Granted this was well over 30 years ago and I haven't been in a fight since because I mind my own business.

Hay, Fool,
telephone operators have NO AUTHORITY to make Americans DO anything.
Are u able to understand that??
( Its the same as if the telephone operator had commanded Zimmy
to vote for the Democrats next election. )

IF u claim that thay DO have that legal power,
then please prove it by citation to competent authority.
I look forward eagerly to your response.
( I expect only another off-topic, ad hominem slur,
because that is the limit of your mental ability.)

@OmSigDAVID,
One thing strikes me as fairly certain...

Every single one of these turkeys claiming that Zimmerman's injuries were superficial or inconsequential, would be squealing like little pigs after the first two of the blows which Zimmerman absorbed.

Legal authority is not the question. He was told the police were on their way. He received good advice from a reputable authority to stay in his car, the situation was being taken care of. He disregarded that advice. Whatever follows is on his own head. He was stupid. Stupidity can cause you to do extremely stupid, fatal things to other people. Zimmerman did just that. It's a crime. If things proceed the way they should, he'll pay the price for his crime.

Look at the back of Zimmerman's head, gunga. I've gotten worse than that banging my head on an open cabinet door. And I walked away without shooting the cabinet. Yes, insignificant.

@MontereyJack,
Dummy David doesn't understand that Zimmerman failed the advise of his call to "stay in your car," then assumed that Martin was up to no good - established by himself without any evidence, then confronts Martin and shoots him dead.

Emergency calls are handled by professionals who knows what they are doing; Zimmerman doesn't understand protocol or common sense of an "average" person. He's a wanna be cop without the badge or authority.

If he fails to heed to the "advise" of the emergency call - he made, then goes ahead on his own, he's the perpetrator of the following events.

If he had headed the advise of his call, Martin will still be alive.

Yes. Additionally, this case is 1OO% based on race, to wit:
if the roles had been racially reversed,
with Zimmy slamming the head of a black
on the street after he had been addressed
with a question and if the black had then
shot Zimmy in self defense, then
1. this case 'd never have been prosecuted at all
(nor shud it have been)
and
2. ALL of the supporters of conviction
in the case at bar wud be silent.

The Governor sacrificed Zimmy 's convenience
to avoid race riots, not on the basis of merit.

again, you rely upon evidence-free assertion, why not stick with facts?

@OmSigDAVID,
It's not based on "race." That's already been established by witnesses who saw Zimmerman. You're making a lot of assumptions like Zimmerman did about Martin - that he was up to no good.

All of you are stupid and unreliable spokesman for the events that transpired; you're not a witness in the trial; you were NOT THERE.

This is the head of someone who had his head bashed on the pavement four times

He received a $58 million dollar judgment today for the attack on him. Now compare his head with George Zimmerman's head allegedly bashed twenty or thirty times, according to Zimmerman.

This man is a liar.

It certainly looks that way. And now the DNA analyst is tearing Zimmerman's account of the fight to shreds. No DNA of Zimmerman's on the hands of Martin, who allegedly attacked him. By the way, I have to vent my frustration about the cable TV networks, all of whom cut to commercial precisely when the witness discusses the results he got and the meaning of his numbers. This innumeracy among TV hosts is frightening.

David wants to minimize the importance of calling 911, but they are trained to respond to most emergencies. When they tell somebody to stay in their car, that's based on their experience in that kind of situation. David thinks he knows better than those trained.

Quote:
911 Operator Protocol
By Aaron Gifford, eHow Contributor

911 operators are responsible for dispatching the appropriate rescue agency
Emergency dispatchers at county 911 centers play a key role in rapid police, fire or ambulance responses. Some are also trained to provide first aid instructions over the phone. The operators have a specialized procedure for prioritizing calls and contacting the appropriate agency in their role as liaisons between victims, witnesses and emergency respondents.

Zimmerman's head had two insignificant contusions, each of which looks to be smaller than a dime, which he probably got when he grabbed Trayvon (remember Trayvon's "Get off me" on the cellphone), so hard he fell over backward and hit his own head on the sidewalk. It's a reasonable supposition that Zimmerman's own actions caused his own wounds. Which would fit the DNA evidence Thomas quotes, as Zimmerman's account does not.

MontereyJack wrote:

The hell, its not.

MontereyJack wrote:

So what??
That changes nothing.
However, he knew that the approaching police
might very well be observing
(from whatever distance)
what was happening, and therefore, he knew
not to commit any felonies in front of them. Anyone wud.
( That is in addition to however many residents were watching
or fotografically recording the fight on their telephones. )
Presumably, defense counsel will point that out
to the jury on summation, if the case actually goes to the jury.

MontereyJack wrote:

Zimmy was not bound to join in YOUR opinion
of what is "good".

MontereyJack wrote:

We have no evidence qua the telephone operator 's reputation.
Maybe u allege that ALL telephone operators are ex officio,
"reputable"?? I dunno about that, Jack.
If I wanna have a good reputation,
then I shud become a telephone operator?? <skeptical>

MontereyJack wrote:

He disregarded that advice.
He was within his rights to do so,
the same as buying a copy of the Wall Street Journal.
Anyone has the freedom to ask anyone what he is doing
( telephone operators to the contrary notwithstanding ).

MontereyJack wrote:

Everything he did
(i.e., asking him what he was doing,
and later exercising his right to self defense)
was perfectly proper.
If Zimmy had been on-the-job as a police officer,
he 'd not have a better right
to stop Martin from beating his head against the street
than an ordinary civilian does.

MontereyJack wrote:
He was stupid.
Zimmy was not as lazy as me.
Maybe that was stupid.
He donated his time to an effort
to suppress the incidence of burglary.

MontereyJack wrote:

Zimmerman did just that. It's a crime. If things proceed the way they should, he'll pay the price for his crime.
That is foolishness.

I think that you have materially misrepresented David's position, CI.
