Walking around, talking on a cell phone, is just that. It is not "pre-burglary casing houses". Zimmerman saw a young black male, doing absolutely nothing wrong, in a place he had a right to be, and he misinterpreted the male's behavior because of his skin color--he racially profiled him, and he completely disregarded Neighborhood Watch rules by both pursuing him, and by doing so when armed.
Zimmerman recklessly stalked and killed an innocent house guest in that community he was allegedly "protecting". Trayvon Martin was a victim of George Zimmerman's personal obsessions, poor judgment and impaired impulse control.
You don't protect a community by killing innocent children who are staying there.
That's why the homeowner's association of that community paid Trayvon Martin's parents a $1 million+ settlement--because their son wasn't safe in that community that night, he wasn't safe from George Zimmerman.
