To me it is amazing how stupid the black community have been.....

So many people hoping one day they will get to use the "self defense" argument!

So far as Florida is concern those self defense laws by percent of populations have kept far more black men out of prison then non-blacks.

But maybe unlike me ,you happen to feel that there is not enough black men in the Florida prison system?

Daily Caller Distorted Stand Your Ground Data To Claim Florida Law "Benefits" Blacks

Daily Caller: "Blacks Benefit From Florida 'Stand Your Ground' Law At Disproportionate Rate." Citing data from Tampa Bay Times which chronicled the victims and defendants in Stand Your Ground cases in Florida, the conservative site Daily Caller claimed on July 16 that "African Americans benefit from Florida's 'Stand Your Ground' self-defense law at a rate far out of proportion to their presence in the state's population." According to the Caller, black individuals "benefit" at a "disproportionate rate" because one-third of stand your ground claims were made by black defendants, and those who used the defense were successful 55 percent of the time, while white individuals were only successful in 53 percent of cases (including pending cases). But Under SYG, Homicides With Black Victims Much More Likely To Be Found Justified

In Florida SYG Cases, Nearly Four In Five Homicides Are Deemed Justified If The Victim Is Black. The Atlantic pointed out that the Tampa Bay Times data, cited by the Daily Caller to claim Stand Your Ground benefits black people, reveals that in Florida, those who killed black people and cited Stand Your Ground got off at a much higher rate than those who killed white people. The Atlantic explained the data:


For killings involving victims of color--black or Hispani [sic] --78 percent of the time the death was considered justified. For killings involving white victims, that rate sinks to 56 percent.

There's one specific situation in which blacks "benefited" from the "stand your ground" law, if you will. Killings of whites by blacks were slightly more likely to be found justified than killings of whites by whites. But otherwise, the law has been less than helpful to the state's black community. Urban Institute Fellow: Under SYG, White-On-Black Homicides Are 354% More Likely To Be Found Justified Than White-On-White Homicides. Research conducted by John Roman, a senior fellow at the Urban Institute's Justice Policy Center, found that in states with Stand Your Ground laws, "the killings of black people by whites were more likely to be considered justified than the killings of white people by blacks." Roman concluded that white people were 354 percent more likely to be found justified in killing a black person than another white person across Stand Your Ground states. [PBS, 7/31/12]

George Zimmerman's Wife Files for Divorce

George Zimmerman's wife Shellie has filed for divorce less than two months after he was acquitted of murder in the death of teenager Trayvon Martin.

She filed the paper work just days after she said in an interviewed aired exclusively on ABC News that the ordeal of the trial had put a strain on their marriage.

Shellie Zimmerman pleaded guilty last month to perjury for lying about the couple's finances when the judge was setting bail for her husband. She appeared in court without her husband.

She said in the interview with freelance journalist Christi O'Connor that she felt "very much alone" without him in the courtroom to support her when she pleaded guilty.

During the interview, Shellie Zimmerman, 26, said she is "going to have to think about" whether she stayed married to George.

In an interview with ABC News, George Zimmerman’s wife Shellie acknowledged that she had left her husband the night before he shot and killed Trayvon Martin. Oh, and she left because they had an argument, and was staying at her father’s house the night of the shooting. But when reporter Christi O’Connor asked for details, Ms. Zimmerman declined to answer:

“Does George have a temper? How volatile did it get the evening before?” asked O’Connor.

“Not going to answer that,” responded Zimmerman.

So, nothing to change the irrefutable fact that Trayvon Martin was a violent gangster thug who attacked a law-abiding good guy who, thank god, was able to defend himself.

Ms. Zimmerman spoke to O’Connor after she pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of perjury Wednesday, admitting that she had lied at a bond hearing about the amount of money the couple had raised through a defense fund.* She also told O’Connor that she felt “very much alone” when, after supporting George Zimmerman throughout his court hearings and trial, he did not attend her when she appeared in court this week.

She also said that the lead-up to the trial put a great deal of stress on their marriage and that she feared Zimmerman at times; he sounds like a real peach of a guy (emotional abuse trigger warning here):

During the ordeal she said she wished she stood up for herself more and that she felt like she was directed to do a lot of things by George and relinquished a lot of control to him, but she said she did so because she did not want to stress him out.

“George has never laid a hand on me nor has he ever used any sort of force. I was concerned that we were living in something that we’d never experienced before and that there is a first time for everything….I just always had that kind of fear in the back of mind,” she said.

Poor George Zimmerman — victimized by the blacks, victimized by the press, and now victimized by the woman who feared he might snap and hit her.

My guess is that you are one of the people hoping that some day you get the chance to shoot and kill someone "in self defense." Most of your posts seems to head me toward that conclusion. Your unqualified defense of Zimmerman is part of that.

Sorry to disappointed you but I had always feel it was my obligation if I was going to carry a firearm to be as expert as possible with them therefore I had spend many hundreds of hours at the range every year and I do not even wish to think about the dollars worth of bullets that had been fired down range by me every year.

Yeah. Almost all of the gun owners who have shot themselves and/or family members feel that same way.
