@BillRM,
Quote: It was not enough for Trayvon to have called the police or call home to ask a family member to come meet him or do both.
Trayvon Martin's father had gone out to dinner--there was no adult in the residence he was staying at that he could have called.
Young black men are not quick to call the police for help...

Defend yourself from what? Being follow is enough reason to attacked someone in your very sick mind?
Defend yourself from a threat, stupid.
Do you think that when strangers follow people in the dark they generally have good intentions?
Do you think being punched in the nose "is enough reason" to shoot and kill someone "in your very sick mind"?
Quote:Or for that matter just keep going home...
He might have become somewhat lost in that housing complex--particularly in the dark, and particularly because he was trying to avoid Zimmerman who was following him.
Those townhouses all look alike, and Martin had only visited there a few times. It's entirely possible he became somewhat lost, or disoriented, in his attempts to get away from Zimmerman.
Why didn't Zimmerman just stay in his car and wait for the police to show up?
Didn't Trayvon Martin have a right to self-defense--from an armed stranger, who was a trained fighter, who had been following him around in the dark, for no apparent reason?
