does that show up on their medical history?

Four years ago I tried to kill myself twice (got caught the second time) & I ended up spending a week in a psychiatric hospital for kids/teens (I was 13 yrs old). I'm 17 now & I'm wondering if that shows up in my medical history, permanent record etc.

If someone were to do a background check (for a job or whatever) on me, would they find out about it? Is this something that's going to affect me forever?

@UhOhh,
It's likely that anything under medical will fall under physician/patient privilege and would not be subject to discovery.

HOWEVER

If the cops were called, or if there is any requirement that the authorities be contacted (e. g. if there was a concern that you could potentially become a physical threat to others beyond just yourself), then it would be a matter of public record.

I'd suggest asking an attorney, and I don't mean just online. I mean paying for an hour of research and interview time and talk to a lawyer who would do the proper and duly diligent research.
