I'd like to start with I will have medical insurance as of July 1, 2013 - I'm just not sure if I can make it till then.
Last month I took a trip to Colorado, I'm from Missouri. I experienced altitude sickness; Swelling, fatigue, shortness of breath. I returned home and immediately began feeling better. 3 days prior to this trip I encountered a Deer Tick on my right calf - it hadn't fed yet it was flat as a pancake, there is a very small scab where it was and it's not inflamed, it itches time to time. These are what lead up to me feeling the way I do now.
About a week after getting back from Colorado I started to have pain in my right calf. I thought it was because I had been standing/walking a lot due to my retail job, no other parts of my body hurt, just my calf. It started to feel swollen and difficult to bend my leg, I curl up when I sit on the couch/desk chair this had never been a problem before. It felt tender to touch but tossed it up to movement. My appetite in the mean time has been weird, times I feel full when I haven't eaten others starving, but I'd been losing weight because of it.
A week ago my left calf started hurting as well, the color of both of them seem normal I have some veracious veins on my right leg towards my knee that are now darker and on my right what looks to be a bruise on my right knee but it doesn't hurt and very small maybe the size of a penny. My upper legs don't hurt either does any other part of my body.
I'm extremely tired though and just feel warn out, I have no upper arm strength which is a notable difference. This is out of character for me, I'm generally the energizer bunny and never tired. Walking up the stairs will make me sweat, even at rest my heart feels like it's racing. These symptoms began roughly 4 days ago and have been getting progressively worse. I’ve also noticed muscle spasms in both my legs and arms.
I'm sweating uncontrollably and appear to look 'flush' by description and has made it so I need to leave work early, I just don't have the energy. I haven't really had an appetite but have been forcing myself to eat because I have the weak feeling you get when you haven't eaten but it doesn't go away after I eat.
The temperature where I live has been in the high 80's and humid, I've tried to take this into account and say it's heat exhaustion but it doesn't make sense with the other symptoms. I've also never experienced this in the past even in hotter conditions. My husband has insurance with his new job but it wont be in affect until July first and no one where he works knows if they do insurance reimbursement so I can see a doctor sooner because I am feeling worse as the days go by - no relief or improvement.
Going to urgent care is easily a $600 visit if not more, I can't afford this but I don't want to perpetuate the problem.
@fidg3ty,
You gave the solution to your problem in your first sentence.

Don't wait if you are feeling that badly.
You might consider calling your insurance company to find a doctor they contract with. Call the doctor's office and explain that your medical insurance doesn't start until July 1st, tell them the symptoms you have and see if they would be willing to see you before you have insurance and allow you to make small monthly payments if necessary.
@Butrflynet,
Don't mean to intrude but how's your mom? I havn't been able to send you a PM.
@fidg3ty,
I take a quarter of a gram of magnesium @ 12 hours
against muscle spasms.
