Hey guys.

'I USED TO SEE that film for the first time two years ago' is grammatically incorrect, but I'd be correct to assume that it's past simple.

If I were to write 'I WATCHED that film for the first time two years ago' it would make the sentence grammatically correct and it would still be past simple.

Maybe the first sentence is not grammatically incorrect. Maybe it's simply semantically nonsensical.

If I were to write 'I WATCHED that book/dog/newspaper for the first time two years ago', would they be grammatically incorrect?
