This is clarified when he kills his son Ikemefuna, he beats his wife during the Peace of Week and lastly when he kills himself.
@lol510,
Lol this is pure guesswork
His fear is one shared by almost everyone. In "Chinua Achebe Things Fall Apart," Okonkwo’s life is dominated by despair of emulating his father. Although was already popular in nine villages, known as a "Strong Man" for his renown as a wrestler, his fear eventually leads to mistakes he supposes could make him look weaker or effeminate to his clan. That he wishes to eclipse his father is clarified when he kills his son Ikemefuna then beats his wife during the Peace of Week, and lastly when he commits suicide.
