(So I'm not revealing anything and have marked my post of the Bullock bio as a possible spoiler).

They are giving "The Sopranos" a run for their money with colorful language.

Does anyone care to play a Deadwood drinking game?

Take a shot every time you hear any character use one of the two 'c' cursewords.

Me, I'd play, but I don't have enough liquor in the house...

Laughing

At the end of last night's episode, Bullock again mentions his wife and child and reveals another interesting aspect of the relationship.

Yep, said it's tme to bring them to Deadwood.

He doesn't seem as interested in NY lady as she does him, but he might be persuaded.

I caught a bit of a twinkle in Bullock's eye for said lady.

Still impressed by the authentic feel of the series. The subtle lens filters are such that I can't tell what they are using but it gives the images a tint and texture that make it look like it was photographed as if they had crude motion picture cameras at the time (even in hi def which is how I'm watching).

It is very realistic except for the number of people who seem to be well read.

I guess that is a must for a decent TV show.

Latest episode was best yet for funny quotes!

The Chinaman really cracked me up!

When Swearengen told the guy his mother must have f'd a monkey, it was just too much!

Anyone still hanging on to the series???

It took me a while to get into this series, but I'm now practically more addicted to it than to the Sopranos. I can't wait to see what happens when Bullock's wife shows up (although maybe that won't happen this season). I have been missing Calamity in the last few eps, though.

Welcome to A2K, booklover, and I haven't looked up what happens to Calamity in real history. I was looking for Bullock to be made Sheriff and it looks like they might be headed that way. It would seem their timeframe of real events has been changed for dramatic flow but actually not that much time has gone by.

I THINK (I haven't googled this, just accessing wet memory) that Bullock was Deadwood's first official mayor (Mr. Farnum excluded, obviously).

Wow. Anyone doing shots on the C word this week's episode would have had a tough time refilling the shotglass fast enough.

There's obviously enough c**ksuckers in Deadwood to fill up Congress.

The link in the thread to the bio of Bullock says that he becomes the sheriff but I don't remember without looking back if he does perhaps eventually become the mayor. Might be a spoiler for some.

As historically correct, Bullock did what I thought he would do. Take the job and take his romantic inclidnations to fruition. As dispicable as Swearington has been portrayed, he almost came off as likable! His last longing look at his smiling "protege" was haunting.
