For that matter, if you really just need target practice inside of 50 meters or theeabouts and particularly considering the present cost of 22 ammo, you should consider the newest generation of break action air rifles in 22 caliber. The ammo those things use is just lead and is still cheap and the new ones are shooting at or over 1000 fps.
