Fellow Bostonians: How many of us wished we had an assault weapon last night?

@maxdancona,
You are attacking something that I enjoy. It would be like me telling you that "The View" really wasn't. It is just a coffee klatsch of women that couldn't get work anywhere else so the squawk their opinions on daytime TV.

You said there were no pictures of black people doing the same things white people do. I showed you differently and you tried to sarcastically brush it off. Black people, Latino people, red people, tan people really, really beige people... there are people among them all the like and enjoy guns.

@McGentrix,
McGentrix, I don't know what you feel I am attacking. And, I don't know why you feel the need to waste time with this thread. Yes, I am sarcastic. No, I don't see any reason that the opinions being expressed here by Angel and Frugal with any respect, they have posted nothing but ridiculous arguments and silly propaganda posters.

You may find me more reasonable talking about gun ownership in other places... my opinion is nuanced... especially if you can discuss these issues in a way that is reasonable and shows nuance. That isn't what is happening here.

What happened is that Angel and Frugal starting posting ridiculous, intellectually empty, propaganda pieces on a three year old thread. This is not the behavior of people looking for a discussion. They came looking for a fight. I answered in a way that amuses me by mocking what I see as the ridiculous, racially charged, gun culture that prompts this type of behavior. If you are looking for a reasoned discussion, you shouldn't be defending the ridiculous spam being posted by Angel and Frugal.

My attacking ridiculous behavior by people who are looking for a fight and aren't offering any intellectual depth is just that. I am not attacking gun owners as a group.

If you don't like this... you can look elsewhere. This is a thread I started, and I am going to amuse myself with these people who making silly posts and not even trying to have a serious dialogue.

Could we blame all the white people who buy meth, pot, and all the other drugs whose business cartels they support in south america and mexico?

@RABEL222,
I don't like this idea at all. This is like a popularity context between Herpes and Brain Cancer. Even if Herpes wins (and it just might) that doesn't give in any reason to be too proud about its popularity.

And besides, so soon after the presidential election, are people going to want to make this type of choice again?

(Thank you for your support anyway.)

@Frugal1,
She could invade my house any time. I wouldn't feel the need to defend it.

But why is she holding that teddy bear hostage?

This is an actual assault weapon, not some run of the mill AR15.

@Frugal1,
My son uses an M4 carbine every day as part of his job. I think that counts as an assault weapon.

@maxdancona,
The M4 like the one your son is issued by our government is not available to civilians. Some folks can't tell the differences between an assault rifle, and a semi-auto only clone of the real thing.

@Frugal1,
To most Americans it doesn't make a difference.

The more important question is how quickly can a gun be used to kill lots of people. When we hear about a "SIG MCX" being used to kill dozens of people in a brief amount of time, whether or not this is an "assault weapon" or not doesn't seem very important.

I care that my son is very well equipped when he is in actual combat situations. Personally, I don't see the need for a gun for myself.

@maxdancona,
Terrorist can kill & injure many innocent people if their targets are unarmed, the way liberals want them to be.

When we hear about defenseless people be killed by terrorist because of restrictive liberal gun laws & polices, we tend to fight for our God given right to defend ourselves. It's your right not to be armed, but you have no right to disarm the rest of us.

It's not a gun free zone if I'm there.
