I have a large common goldfish about 3 years old. When I got up to feed it this morning I noticed everything in the tank was covered with what appears to be tiny white eggs. The goldfish is not eating, swimming slower then normal, its anus is swollen, and its eyes are protruding. Any ideas on what this could be? When testing the water, the ph is a little low, and the nitrate & nitrite are high, so i put some water treatment in the tank to help stablize it.
@modestme,
There might be a problem with your fish's swim bladder, which helps the fish float and swim the right way. You could try putting some frozen peas in the water, which I was told tends to fix these problems. It may be something else, but this is worth the shot. Good luck and I hope he gets better soon.
