I just wanted to find out which women paint their toenails, and why. I have this weird thing about it. It grosses me out for some reason. It makes me think of tribal women in Africa who stick plates in their lips and other such ridiculous ritualistic things. I don't know why I don't mind lipstick, but I can't stand painted toenails.
So who among you paints your toenails. And do any men like it?
I don't; I think that it's quite a freaky waste of paint. Besides, I want to stop any painted toenail fetishist in their tracks!
I started wondering about this (recently again), when nieces and godchildren - aged between 8 and 11- started doing this.
Regarding the pic that can be very dangerous, though (obviouly, the right foot is already done
)
I do it about once every ten years.
Doesn't do anything for me either way on others.
I don't like painted toenails or fingernails very much...like the natural look better...
the only toenail polish that bothers me is when they give it a french tip. It's creepy to have your toenails look like little fingers.
I can hardly wait for it to be sandal season, so I'll have a good reason to do my toenails.
Nails that don't look well-maintained gross me out. They don't have to be polished/manicured/pedicured, but well kept.
There's almost no experience as wonderful as getting a pedicure. I'd definitely rather have a pedicure than a manicure. (not that I've had either that often - it's a very special treat)
I know quite a few men who REALLY appreciate the look of a good pedicure on a woman. <nods>
I paint my toenails all the time, it must be a dark paint - like purple or deep reds. I have no idea why that would gross you out, but I like it. I think it looks great.
Always in the summer. Love pedicures. I dont really care if men like it or dont. My husband doesnt say anything
Maybe my distaste for toenail painting is just because I don't really like toes very much in the first place, and painting toenails is like putting lipstick on a pig to me.
Maybe ya gotta be one of those toe-suckers to appreciate it. I'm no toe-sucker!

I had an overactive pedicurist break my toe once. Since then, I haven't desired a pedicure. The major problem (for me) with toenail polish is it rubs off too fast.
I only recently started using toenail polish. I like sky blue and cotton candy pink. Funny that. I haven't ever had any comments either way from men.
Painted toenails signify relaxation and summer. They look so festive--it always make me feel better when my toenails are painted.
I've never had a pedicure--maybe it's time to give it a try.

A really light sky blue is my favorite in toes too! I used to mix my own colors/sell them to friends in high school. But I stopped both because my nail polishes were stolen and because the mixing was destroying too many of my brain cells!
That sucks portal. I hate theives.
I always paint a base in one or two clear coats, then apply two top coats. I never have a problem with the paint rubbing off.
Diane - get yourself to a pedicure-ist! They are one of the finest things in life.
Portal - how do you make your own polish?
I go to a nail palace in Hilo every two weeks for refills on my nails. And once a month I have a pedicure. A pedicure is to die for. Living in Hawaii one tends to let their toes hang out.

I should have known this would turn into a womanly gabfest. Well, enjoy. I'm outta here.
A really good pedicure is better than........... well as good as............okay its right up there.
