Until the USA nationalizes oil, like most countries have, we will pay the world-market price or do without. We can produce oil up the kazoo, but it will make little difference in that price.

There is no logical reason for the USA to nationalize oil.
The US government has too much control... there is no reason to give them more.

Then by you're own quote you've admitted that the POTUS has little control of the cost of gasoline.
