Hi, all
Are these all correct per British punctuation?
1-When he said 'Go to hell!', he scared his girlfriend.
2-When she asked 'Where's the remote?', her husband said that he dropped it in the toilet.
3-When he said "You'll have to use better judgment', she took it to heart.
(Comma outside the single end quote because it's not part of the quotation? Again, this is per British punctuation.)
4-I don't like my wife's 'Where did you go?', 'How long were you there?' and 'Were you unfaithful' questions.
Thanks
The placing of commas inside quotes is indeed a British practice but it is more a question of style and typography than "punctuation". Your examples conform to the practice, and your last example uses the Cambridge practice of omitting a final serial comma before 'and'. The Oxford practice is to use a comma there.
@contrex,
You meant 'placing commas outside the quotes', right?

I meant to write "not placing commas inside quotes", but accidentally edited out the word 'not'.
