KP~
Huge number of towns and counties with names from Britain. There is an Essex county as well. I live in Middlesex county. Maybe founded by someone who couldn't quite decide?

KP might live in the (old/former) county of Middlesey as well: most of this county became Greater London in 1965.

Positioned as it was between the East and West Saxons, the region soon after the Saxons had colonized that area, obtained its modern name - meaning "middle Saxons".

Walter, you are right.

I live in what was Middlesex, now Greater London. Middlesex and Surrey (the two counties previously extending into London - North and South of the river, respectively, still exist. Just outside Greater London, now.)

I'm interpreting/summarising articles from the Saar-Echo today - not exactly normal activity for an accountant but I've got to get to the bottom of something. The language used is not exactly school German!!!

You may like to have a look here:

Saarländisch für Anfänger

and if you want to know, how that sounds in reality:

Deutsch <> Saarländisch
