The original movie, Dirty Dancing (1987) had Patrick Swayze.

I think there were more Broadway connections with the original Dirty Dancing movie.

Jennifer Grey (who played Baby) is the daughter of Joel Grey, who originated the role of the Master of Ceremonies in Caberet on Broadway (he also repeated the role in the film version), and he appeared on Broadway in other roles as well, and Jerry Orbach, who played Baby's father, often appeared on Broadway (beside being known for Law & Order).

I don't know there is a Broadway connection with that other film, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, but I haven't looked into it. If you're interested, check out the cast from this IMDB link to that film

Thanks for that, ff. I can't work out the connection - but it will probably come to me suddenly in the middle of a sleepless night! Meantime, I had pulled out my copy of the original Dirty Dancing and watched it yet again. Never get tired of some of the dance sequences in that film.

Ah well, it was there earlier, so some of us coffee drinkers got to enjoy it. Impressive feet, even though the pinky wasn't extended just at the proper angle.

It is rather quiet, Andy. I just stopped in to see if firefly's picture was back up. I wanted the missus to see it because it showed the sort of coffee mug I've been wanting. But, alas, it's lost in space apparently.
