I remember that there was a time, Frank (and I'm sure you do, too) when if you ordered anything buttered in an eatery, and they tried to give you oleo as a butter-substitute, they were required by law to tell you that. A restaurateur had no right to pretend that margarine was butter. Unfortunately, the American Dairy Council has lost much of its clout since then.
My father used to insist, when he was served bacon, that it
not be drained before going onto his plate. Said the bacon grease was the best part. He lived to the age of 81 and left half a carton of dairy sour cream in the 'fridge, half eaten.
