Whatever that plant is that I grow in my backyard that they call a tomato tastes pretty good during the summer months

I love a fresh vine ripened tomato, but in my opinion, they are always better with a lot of salt. And I don't mind if they're grown in a green house, as long as they taste good, like a tomato, not like a water filled tomato shaped mealy thing. But fm's expertise in growing plants is very interesting to me. Given another life, a farm atmosphere might have been nice.

@Lola,
I don't get the joke if so, but it's an amusing idea to me anyway. I've solved the ants after candy problem, obviously seal edges while attaching panels. You're talking to a former garden shed designer (oh, and gardens, but usually tending to not be that playful ). I suppose the candy would rot, but it's junk door in the first place; attach another interesting door later. Hey, maybe twinkies would work, they last forever.

@ossobuco,
They seem to make aquarium gravel that resembles jelly beans (well, sort of).

.
Create a colourful aquascape in your aquarium with Marina Decorative Gravel. The gravel is epoxy-coated, which makes the gravel inert and prevents any adverse effects on water chemistry. Research shows that epoxy-coated gravel provides an optimum surface for the colonization of beneficial bacteria, which in turn provide biological filtration for clear and healthy water. The gravel is dust free and is available in a wide variety of colours. For fresh water and saltwater aquariums. Colour: Jelly Bean. Net weight: 2 kg (4 lbs).

It would be nice if Wassau hired a professional bumper, then patrons wouldn't be burdened with this task.

Some places have bouncers, so why not bumpers?

I have a chipped tooth and a tiny scar to the left side of my mouth as a result of doing the bump back in the day. Turns out wrestlers aren't naturally gifted disco dancers.

Because bumping would require 3 shifts plus a stand-in for temporary absence due to one thing or another. Which would increase prices in here and they are already a bloody liberty.

The atmosphere is quite pleasant at certain times. It's farming itself that is a bit of a trial. Especially at the other times.

@spendius,
Perhaps we could do two 12 hours shifts per day... 3 workers 48 hours per week each. Then mandate "overtime" to cover each of the two additional 12 hours shifts. Sounds easy... I don't see a problem?

If only............no sooner does Wassau hire a bumper, they quit. Over work is their primary complaint.

You see there, Firefly? The job is dangerous and asking a lot. Very funny Beth.

@georgeob1,
Well, I'm with Thomas. I've never tasted poutine, although I've heard my share about it. But I feel the same way about key lime pie and peanut butter cookies.

Well, after this option then. I'll choose journalism and then life on a farm. Maybe I could have all three, simultaneously. Wassau? Can you arrange that for me?

Coordination of this might be more work than the bumping. But I welcome your suggestions Matt......any others?

I don't know why we have all this bumping stuff anyway. I don't remember the problem from a few years ago.

@Lola,
Can the bumper also be the grinder?
Bumping and grinding seem to go together especially in a coffee house.
I think I will put an ad on Craig's List:

Totally agree (thanks for replying Wink ) I rarely buy anything but grape tomatoes in the winter months...mainly because they are the ones that have the best taste....but nothing beats a summer tomato. A little fresh mozarella, basil, well aged balsalmic vinegar...good grief it's good.

@Lola,
I was only trying to be a little romantic Lola. In keeping with the "tart's knickers" curtains and the subdued lighting.

I have often thought it a bit ironic listening to some hairy-arsed blokes talking about getting a JCB out of a ditch in a pub with those sort of fittings.

There were some shots on the News tonight of the power lines being fixed in a stiff blizzard to restore power in N. Ireland. There was not one woman in sight. I think the Equal Opportunities Commission should be informed about such a blatant injustice.

I call this, Turkish Delight. Nancy and I love it. Baked this one last night.

Kind of a casserole...chopped beef, potato, leeks, chopped eggplant bits, chopped mushrooms, a bit of Jarlsberg Cheese...on a bed of (and topped with) Filo dough.

Delicious! I usually have mine drenched in a white sauce that I make thin.

Leftovers, of which there are plenty because that is a 2' deep 9 x 9 Pyrex casserole dish, are especially good.

@Frank Apisa,
That looks good, Frank. Do you cook the eggplant at all first? (I don't with my eggplant rice dish*, just wondering)
