Are my fish trying to mate?

I have 3 goldfish. I've had one for almost a year and I got the other 2 about 2 weeks ago. The older one and one of the newer ones are acting weird around each other, the little one (probably female) stays in one corner of the tank all day until I come home. Then the older one (probably male) stands guard of her. When the other newer fish tries to swim by the supposedly female, the older one seems to get very territorial. Is this supposed to mean something?

Hi there,

This is true, It has happened to my fishes too! This can depend, they will mate in the future. For now, the fishes ar getting to 'love' each other. Expect mating in the future!
