Hi McTag, Your timing to Hong Kong was off a few months. I'll be there in February for Chinese New Years and my third trip to HK but first new years. Just returned from a transatlantic cruise last night, and it had to be the busiest travel day in the US with delays at both Miami and Atlanta. It took me 15 hours from Miami to San Francisco - a new record I think. LOL c.i.

15 hours from Atlanta to SF - how miserable! Thinking...
it took me 13 hours once to fly from Arcata, CA to Portland, Oregon and then to Seattle, Washington, normally about a three hour trip even with the stopover in Portland.

Well, Dachau is just another Bavarian, with a (in 19th century) wellknow artist's colony.

"It's a long road that has no turning"

As long as you're willing to post, there are avid fans 'n' followers.
Milano at Crimble sounds great.

A famous German, Walter by name, will visit us at the weekend.

YAY! Welcome Walter, I could meet some of you somewhere... how long is he staying?

btw I could do with some Germanisation of the public transport system in London on Sundays. I had a prepaid ticket for a 3.30 bus from London's Victoria Coach Station to Bristol. Half an hour before I was due there I was on the Victoria Line platform in King's Cross. 15 min later an announcement came that there was a problem with signals. I got to Victoria too late by Piccadilly and Circle Lines, only to wait for 45 minutes in a queue to change my ticket - for which privilege i was charged £1.50 - so missing the 4.30 and having to wait till 6.00.
All because my car was being seen to so it could get through the MOT. I certainly shan't be changing my evil driving habit and patronising public transport any time soon...

Haha. Can't let this one go by without an appreciative comment! Very Happy

And Walter's coming to visit you, too? You caught him!

Clearly Clary, you are having too much fun. Milan for Christmas? Ooooh. Just saying that sounds good.

Too bad about the public transport. I've noticed if you don't care just when you'll go and where you'll get to, it works pretty well.

Clary, Have you been to Milano before? It's a fantastic city with many things to see. Don't miss the museum in the Opera House, La Scala, not far from the cathedral, and if you have time, go see the Last Supper by Leonardo.

La Scala has just been refurbished!
I haven't been inside it, but I gave it a good stare from the outside, while standing near one of the entrances of the Galleria...

Hmm, this image link doesn't seem to work. I'll be back with the full article link. (It was in yesterday's Washington Post.)
Hmmm, it worked when I cut and pasted http//www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/photo/postphotos/style/2004-11-29/3.htm
into my Address box. Perhaps it only works for me...

I don't know if you have to register to read it, since I subscribed online a few years ago myself.
Dec. 7th will be the opening night of the refurbished opera house.
