My thoughts are with you, as you go through this.

Dear friends,
I'm back at home, in the bosom of my family so to speak, and now it's just a matter of arrangements, fielding letters and phone calls, and getting on with things. The journey was fine but of course I'm sleeping at odd times - 9 pm - 5 a m, which isn't too bad.
I've had so many messages from well-wishers, and it is heart warming to know there are so many of them around. Notices in the Hong Kong newspapers brought a flood of emails from people going back to 1979.
Main question now, finding a venue for the memorial - a church and then back to our cottage? A beautiful country hotel? The choice is wide...

Thank you Walter! It is one of the most beautiful rivers...
By the way, when is the A2K meeting in London?

I agree in advance that an awk meet would be a good thing to look forward to. I won't say that I am envious, in this case alone, as I know it is hardcomeby for you... but also heartening, restorative. Damn, I wish I were more able to hop planes.

The date isn't fixed yet, but it certainly will be between the 17th and 20th of May

Well I remember, must be fifteen or more years go now, taking the steamer from Dartmouth to Totnes. Yes, a lovely river, in a lovely area. I like the towns very much too...I enjoy the nautical flavour.

On another day, Fiona was washed out to sea on the ebb tide while standing on a sailboard, and had to be rescued by a motorboat. Happy days.

This is what Turner thought Totnes on the Dart looked like - he's moved the castle and made it more dramatic! And the colours are very wishy-washy.

Damn, Clare: I just got back from Stratford yesterday only to hear this. I could go on about it, but will not. How long are you going to be in Totnes?

Beautiful photo and Turner, Clare. The place looks lovely. Nice to have an a2k event coming up. Hope the services for Simon go well and are not too exhausting.

Here's hoping that all is proceeding as well as could be expected, Clare. It's very comforting to know that you have so much support, too.

Love to you,
Olga
