Just no more shoe talk and shop talk, OK???!!!!
Cheers!
Nothing against red shoes, I'm sure they're great, but... as I said, I might defect...
in a twin fit of joy last fall, i bought 4 pairs of red shoes - all variations on an open-back loafer. they weren't my first red shoes, and won't be the last. red goes with everything, doncha know?
my newest red shoes
(very darn close to this pic, at least)
Clary has boycotted the thread!
I think she's decided she needs some red shoes, and has gone shopping.
I think that there are some very nice men's shoes in oxblood, which could be considered red. They look sharp with just the right wardrobe.
Lovin' the shoes, Beth.
Clary, come back! We want to hear more of your travels!!!
<mulling>
I don't think we've ever had a shopping thread ...
soooo, Clary, any dragon boats to be seen?
one of the reasons I've been interested in going to Hong Kong is to see dragon-boat racing there. the championships move between HK and Australia. I've seen a few pix, and even have a pic of a Hong Kong dragon boat stamp, but I'd love to see them in their home setting.
we 'ave draggin' boats here, I hear!
At the last big dragon boat regatta I participated in, I finally caved and got myself a warm-up set (no, this isn't about shopping!). The pants spell out
........ d r a g g i n . ......... b u t t ................... across the, well, butt.
(I love 'em)
Dragon Boat Festival is in June, so I haven't seen any this time. But in my previous incarnation as the Wife of the Assistant District Officer of Eastern District I had a front row seat for the local races, + a huge dinner hosted by the large and influential Fishermen's Association, at which everyone got vry drunk and had to sing songs on stage (pre-karaoke so even worse!)... those were the days!
Hehehehe! My husband was in the Hong Kong government as a colonial civil serpent, and as such he had a spell as Assistant District Officer (a fairly lowly job) in Eastern, which is the easterly half of HK Island. The fishermen were based there, for some reason.
I also had to dot the dragon's eye, on occasion, putting the last touch to a dragon before it was danced with. Very public and quite fun; but not being a shopper or shoe fetishist I always looked a mess, or so I think.
