I suspect that many "obsessions" are based on a "delusion" that the "obsession" is more important than it truly is in the greater scheme of things. So, while "obsessions" may prevent "ennui," it might often be based on faulty importance ascribed to the "obsession." In effect, if more obsessed people understood that their obsession might be based on "delusional thinking.," their might be less obsessions, and more people spending their time in a more balanced way (aka, mentally healthy).

It's hard to pick out just the right obsession for you, Set.
So good at history, I feel that it should be history related, and be about some tidbit not very well known by many of us. But that doesn't really work, since in the context of his history type posts, Set is not, uh, crazed, but as accurate as he can be at the time.

So, I'll suggest that you become maniacal about pork or beef. Which one, I'm not sure.
