Do you think the left simply wants gun registration or do you think confiscation is their true goal?

A criminal is a person who has been convicted of something. Everybody who has not been is a law-abiding citizen from a legal point of view.

We in Britain are free of the bullshit and the bribes of the gun lobby. If there was a referendum here there would hardly be a vote for what they have in the US. We think that the gun lobby has got the population as a snake has a rabbit. Its argument is self-energising. It will need to become sick to the back teeth of itself before anything is done and realise that easy money is not worth an uneasy conscience to anybody who possesses one.

I haven't chosen your pill. I've only agreed with a single observation, and reluctantly, at that. I side with neither the gun nuts nor the prohibitionists. There is a position somewhere in between that is a rational balance. Neither extreme seems willing to look for it.

No you are not. You have both. One in your face and the other only de facto. How can you be free of either when you have them?

We don't have them. In the same way I don't have mumps. We are really free of them. You can only assert you are and you're not. And the louder and longer you assert something to be true that isn't the nearer you come to being unstable enough to be caught out by any background checks worthy of the name. A bit like somebody asserting to have met an alien from outer space when the rest of us know they haven't done.

I suppose you must be one of those silly sods who claim they are not influenced by TV advertising. As if fat cats would spend all that money on something which has no effect.

I am all for the second amendment and keeping the population armed to the teeth however it not for any fear of the left but fear and distrusted of the right wing who in my opinion are far more likely at some future time to try to pull a coup then the left is.

The examples are countless in very recent history of the right trying to interfere with and even take away voting rights from citizens that do not share their outlooks on life.

That's tantamount to comparing the US with a banana republic Bill. There is no chance of it happening in the US. Voting rights can only be taken away by a free vote to do so. Which is what happened in 1933 in Germany. It is when the electorate has lost confidence.

And voting rights can be taken away by rendering them meaningless and voting becoming a charade. We used to be able to see with our own eyes and hear with our own ears the difference between a socialist and a Tory. We can't now.

The leader of today's National Union of Mineworkers holidays in Tuscany and appreciates Debussy. Probably condemns football hooligans.

That is one hell of a good example of your type of person problem you will not work with anyone who do not agree in total with your outlook on life.

I could not disagree with you more on where this society should go however I do agree on the 2 amendment but that of course that does not matter to you if I am not a true believer in the great god Rush and the fools of the teaparty then the hell with my support of the 2 amendment.

This country government will remain in a hopeless deadlock until the people wake up and vote out of office all the teaparty fools who will not work with anyone who is not a total true believer in their eyes.
