@H2O MAN,

War encompasses civilians, it's unavoidable.

No, those are war crimes as established largely by the USA after WWII. Those are war crimes for which Japanese and German leaders were put to death. Specifically targeting civilians, as the US did and has done, numerous times, is a war crime.

Quote:
The Alies targeted entire German and Japanese cities filled
with civilians during WWII and it helped bring the war to
an end much, much quicker than if they had not done this.

While that may be an expedient that serves your abysmally low moral compass well, these events still were war crimes.

But as morally reprehensible as the US's behavior in WWII was, it represents only a tiny portion of the evil that the US has heaped upon the poor of the world since and before that event.

Now you sound like Oralloy, Frank. Are you an Oralloy sock puppet?

You're so dishonest that you can't even address the pointed issue I raised with you. Why have you chosen to repeatedly rag on H2oman for his typo but you have up to now given Merry Andrew a pass?

What on Earth are you babbling about?

Can you not read, Frank, or spell? "opinons" is not the accepted spelling for "opinions"

Anybody who supports the 2nd in an NRA sock puppet.
That is a stupid thing to say.

Once again...what on Earth are you babbling about. Surely you can spell out whatever is bothering you in a comprehensible form. If you cannot...get someone to help. I am not sure of what you are asking...or why you are asking it.

More democratic American disarmament idiocracy:

Sheriff says folks shouldn't settle for just calling 911 — get a gun

Quote:
On Friday, residents of Milwaukee County got some advice they probably never expected. Sheriff David Clarke Jr. took out a radio ad telling residents, "With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option." Sounding less like a public-safety officer and more like Steven Seagal, Clarke’s ad said, "I need you in the game. … Consider taking a certified safety course in handling a firearm so you can defend yourself until we get there." Wisconsin state law says that anyone using deadly force in the defense of their home or business acted reasonably, but even so, Clarke’s ad has drawn criticism from people who think that urging frightened civilians towards vigilante justice is not wise.

Were you ever able to produce any statistics (preferably FBI-sourced) to back up this bet of yours?

@ehBeth,
The CDC has good numbers (edit - for non fatal injuries)
http://webappa.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/nfirates2001.html

25% of shootings are accidental or self inflicted
75% are the result of assault
Less than 1/2% are the result of legal intervention.

Of course this only lists those wounds that required medical attention.
Maybe H20Man is claiming gun owners are such poor shots that the wounds they inflict require no more than a band-aid.

@H2O MAN,

I'm not anti-gun, nor am I a gun nut. I'm just a gun owner. I don't think I made it 20 seconds into that. Sen. Feinstein allegedly introduced a bill to a) make all guns illegal and b) fingerprint all legal gun owners? That logical conundrum and the quickly rising volume of the speaker's voice stopped me from listening any further.
