So what, you say? Ah, but this one is different. It's about the length of the last joint on my thumb, and about as thick as three stacked quarters. But lots of small led lights out there, right? Well then, I'll tell you how I got it.
I did the laundry last night at the laundromat. When I got home and started ironing, I saw this terrible looking thing clinging to my nice, fuzzy flannel shirt. "Somebody's pet cockroach just got drowned", I though, but no, I couldn't delicately flick it off with my finger. Close inspection revealed it was velcroed to the shirt with the hook part of a velcro fastener. I pulled it off, and discovered it was actually a very small led. First clue - no legs.
Now, here's the interesting part. It works. push the side opposite the velcro and it lights pretty well for such a small thing. It also has a slider switch. Note that it survived a commercial washer with hot water and lots of tumble. It also made it through three cycles of the dryer, though commercial dryer cycles seem to get shorter every few months.
I put it on my keychain.
@roger,
Must be a Timex flashlight.
@Butrflynet,
No, but if I mention the brand (which I never heard of) I'd have to turn myself in as a spammer.
@roger,
Not if you first say "Hello Community" and then sign it with your full name.
Of course, someone will then come along and want to do an age/sex/location check on you to see if you really are a bot.
@roger,
I had two mobiles which survived washes, tip...
Dry them out on the heater before assumption.
I have a brilliant JCB flashlight, it has adjustable focus and is heavy enough to clonk an attacker. Ebay, dirt cheap.
@roger,
"....got home and started ironing".....IRONING?????
@nextone,
Yeah. You know, you set up the ironing board and. . . .
Oh, you're pulling my leg. You've heard about stuff like that, surely.
@roger,
Hoady ho ho hee ha ha.
But yes, it is amusing to me too, for a while.
@nothingtodo,
I just learned one more step after (or instead of) using a hair dryer on any device that was submerged: place the device in raw rice kernels. This draws out all the moisture.

My iron is a spray bottle with water and 2 minutes in the dryer
chai(you gotta put some other clothes in with it though so it can knock around)tea
@roger,
This is exactly the type of pithy thread you just don't see on other Internet forums.
@Ticomaya,
thank god (smootches roger)
@chai2,
Yes, indeed. In a lesser forum, Roger might have felt compelled to tell us about the washing machine he used, rather than focusing on describing the flashlight he picked up.
@Ticomaya,
Not just used, played like a Stradivarius.
Or a Fender Stratocaster.
@chai2,
Exactly.
Anywho, has anyone ever watched "Fireplace For Your Home" on Netflix? Enchanting. Got the Yule Log version streaming this morning.
@Ticomaya,
I read yesterday that baby oil will keep razors sharp for shaving. So I moved both products into the same cabinet. I will let you know if it works.

Let me know how it turns out. What kind of wood is burning?
edgar, you can also sharpen you blade with a few swipes against an emery board.
peroxide is good for taking blood out of clothes.
@chai2,

I plan to shave more carefully than that.

Didn't you learn that on board? (I even was good with just the emergency lights on. But never tried it with flashlight.)
